I built this very nice Trumpeter 1:72 scale LCM 3 Landing craft for vehicles (or whatever else they wanted to put in it) For the D-Day Group build that (at the time of uploading) is taking place on my discord server.

Other possibilities for the cable would be heavy thread (which would be far less fuzzy than twine, especially when painted) or maybe wrapped guitar string.

I had the Airfix 1:76 version many years ago, and an Airfix 1:76 Sherman would only just fit the width of the load compartment. A Churchill tank was much too wide to fit inside. Assuming those models were to correct scale and this is too, I think that with the life-rings installed inside the compartment a Sherman would be a very tight fit.

Onboard a vessel they’re called bitts, bollards are on a pier or quay, and the control cabin thingie is called the coxswain flat JIC it ever comes up at pub trivia night, another great vid ‘erbert!
