I like the part where he's trying to look as quick as possible then he smashes the die into the stop. If you've ever wondered how a brand new machine gets a funny twist of a couple thousandths somewhere in something, it's this guy.
@turkeyguy0
@turkeyguy0 4 жыл бұрын
@ Maybe our terminology is different but who said anything about the beam? I was thinking more along the lines of this guy grabbing a beefy 4' section of 1" 90° Tall V-Die and ramming it into the side of a stop because he's moving too quick to be thinking for more than 50% of his day. I've seen it happen at least 10 or 15 times, Go look at your Back Gauges and Rails some time... All those gouges and dings and spots that people have hit with a die grinder are people just like this guy. Also if you don't see anything wrong at a glance but notice that your stops sit a little off of adjacent where you get .003-.004" difference from one side of your stop to the other but you can't see any obvious battle scars... More than likely it was still this guy but instead of smashing the tip of the stop he smashed the main section of the body on the stop because he couldn't be asked to walk down to the end of the machine to put a die in. Also still, would like to add that there are plenty of things this guy can do still to 'jack the beam'. Ever see someone attempt to get a 90° on 3/4" SST Plate with a 90° Punch?

@ Ever try to correct a 2" wide stop to run parallel within .0005"? The stuff I work on is +/- .000", The math back to that set screw you're talking about is actually more like trying to position that stop adjacent relative to that set screw to +/- .000015". My point about a couple thousandths still stands... I don't work on things that are +/- .060", .030", .015" or .010", My loose tolerances are +/- .005" with no parallelism or adjacency specified. You might not think that something being .003" out of whack on a machine doesn't matter but to someone who does 90% custom non-repeat things that will be involved in 'skunk works' projects... .003" twist in a stop is too much by a factor of nearly 10 times. I am completely familiar with everything on any modern brake. I have parts orbiting or en-route to every planet in the solar system. I have parts involved in things that neither you or I will know about for 30 years and even for the stuff I do know about, I'm under an NDA for the next decade over still. I've run Amadas, Cincinnatis, Trumpfs, Accurpresses, LVDs, Safan Darleys and even Niagras and Di-Acros. I've worked personally with Cincinnati's and Accurpress's Development Teams. You're wasting your time trying to debate me but I do need to ask, What is giving you the impression that you know my shit better than I do?
4 жыл бұрын
@@turkeyguy0 Holy fuck, asshole this is youtube,! I ran that exact brake for ten years, dick. So, kindly, fuck off.
@turkeyguy0
@turkeyguy0 4 жыл бұрын
@ Well then you know that it's not easy to get those stops within .0005" of one another without side to side twist after someone slams a die into them. Also if you've been running a brake for 10+ years why are you still calling things by the wrong names? I never mentioned the beam in that initial post. I mentioned the stops and only the stops.

If there are high surface finish requirements when press brake/edge bending, the Swedish product Tribotextil™ can be applied in the pressing/bending tool and mechanically protect the sheet metal from scratches and other damages. Tribotextil™ is an extremely thin and very strong textile that in this process replaces lubricants in the tool.

My first was a 12' 300 ton Cincinnati mechanical then a 4' 80 ton analog Promecam/Amada then I graduated. Moved to a different company and a $7-hr raise jumped in to a brand-new Accupress 12' 250ton with 3d programming and hydraulic clamping and brand-new Willa tooling. Then moved down the row to the 14' 400 ton Accupress with analog programming and they bought me a new Accupress 13' 320ton with 2 dimensional cnc programming. But for curling lids and long run production parts with 1 or 2 bends I'd go run or set up an ancient 10' 90 ton Cincinnati mechanical. I loved those pressbreaks. Dang I miss them. Must be crazy maybe!

The TRUMPF TruBend press brakes are precision brakes designed for high productivity and quick set-up. In today’s economy, most companies are experiencing decreasing part quantity and increasing job numbers; or lean manufacturing with just in time demands. TRUMPF’s machines excel in this area whether the part is 6” long or 14’ long. Our tooling is designed in segmented pieces ( to tool weighs over 45lbs) which make changing even a 12’ top die very quick.

Nope, It's BendGuard not rly make use of this when u make little details or usable when u dont have to make alot of detail's (work efficency goes lower with this). I work on same hydraulic press but my work is lil bit more advanced than this here. Guy working here tryin to look for more advanced operator but he's not I think by looking how he reinforce tools in press. I work with alot of elements that are 2 meter's long with with double folding. That guy not even put correct's on bend's. He is not using any measuring tool at all. Belive me u can do alot of more "hypnotising for watch" work on that machine. My company produce door frames and I have to bend the metal of thickness from 0,7mm to 3mm. Temperature of oil in the pistons of the hydraulic, temperature of metal and every metal is from another "stack" so be sure there are similar materials but not the perfectly the same and on every detail u have measure it and put the corrects until get repetability. Repeatability of detail's on this press is like 80% depend on operator. Also we need to know what precision is needed on every detail.. I have to make details with tolerance of 0,1 degree.. Or your door's will not shut correctly! :"D Fuck i wrote long commentary XD And i work for 8 hours and have to make like 150-300 details more than 2 meters long and 40 centimeters wide or more. Program's from 1-9 bends with one folding to 1-16 bends with two foldings.

+joblagz It has its drawbacks because of the length of the flattening attachment. We sometimes had to use the other brakes if we had to flatten much longer hems. It's still the best damn brake I've ever operated. This particular brake has extended ram with the extended tooling, which is what a company I used to work for had. We had some 90 tooling, extended acute tooling with flattening attachment, and some thin tip gooseneck that was awesome.

If this guy had to actually use his brain on a old school machine he wouldn't be whistling. Any high dollar machine will make even a below average mechanic look like a seasoned veteran. And yea I am just jealous that he has quality machines to work with.

Kendall Shepherd I think we spent about $400k on ours. There are all kinds of options available, and am not sure of the base price.

Does the operator write his own programs?
@Mogliscope

Dont think so,,,he'll loading this programm,many of them are stored,,
@iked4421
@iked4421 7 жыл бұрын
Probably pulling them off internal memory or off a network. Programs are generally written by engineers but need to be modified by the operator so the machine allows you to make changes on my brake press I can write and make my own custom programs you have to have a special key to unlock the machine to do it though because a lot of people don’t know what they are doing and do more harm then good haha

@@iked4421 ha ha ha. Engineers writing press brake programming? Umm no not in the real world. Usually the engineers have to be corraled into designing manufacturable bending and forming by the set up operator.

The bend is checked automatically by laser and adjusted in real time.
