it seems that a new player gets a LOT of free stuff indeed these days. I started (as F2P) in 2015 and it took me a year to get a decent deck. I mostly played Arena in the first 2 years for this reason.

@@Blackadder75 I played back a launch and the game felt punishing for not spending money. Played some, spent some; had an ok time, but moved on. I came back about a month ago and now I feel rewarded every time I play. It's nice to see the game evolved away from punishing you for not spending money and instead rewards you for playing. Sure, more money equals better cards, but I at least feel like I can still have a good time by spending a few bucks here and there.

That's the most dense and active and just generous time to be a F2P player, I've never seen so much gold and packs, and legendaries back when I was free-to-playing6 very refreshing to see that side of hearthstone again!

Trump seems to forget here that rank 50 or 40 doesn;t mean F2P , it only means new player. If they bought a pack bundle they will have pretty decent decks from day 1. Sure they might need to skill up, but hearthstone is easy to learn, difficult to master. A newbie can get to 90% of his skill ceiling very quick.

@@Gorbgorbenson No, you're wrong. The match is based on MMR, but Trump's main account's MMR is not inherited by the new account, so, his new account's MMR should be very low. The reason why he got matched with a non-apprentice opponent is Blizzard thinks Trump's new account is a new player, and they want to encourage purchases by matching him with powerful opponents, so that the new player thinks "Wow, that guy is so powerful. Where can I get the cards necessary to be that powerful?", then buys the card packs. It's EXTREMELY scummy, but it's actually true; Blizzard had a patent describing this exact thing. Go to a KZbinr named "Hearthstone Tips by Kris O Five", then go to a video 4 months ago titled "Hearthstone is RIGGED! I Have Proof!" (I forgot the exact title, but you should find it pretty easily).

Goes for the delayed effects on the hero too, it's not really a "spellburst" symbol and more representing a "triggered ability" akin to magic that triggers on a when condition. When this takes damage for the first time When you cast a spell When your next turn comes Etc.

I've been almost always a f2p player. I've only spend money two times with super promotions. Ten classic packs and a legendary for a very low price (80 MXN), which would be 4 bucks. And i got that promotion again a few months later for $50 MXN (like 2.5 bucks). But the key to be a f2p player is to disenchant all your extras. And at the most, only have 1 golden card and 1 non golden card of the non legendary cards.

Hi Trump, I don't know if you know it, but you can still "buy" the Frozen Throne expansion for free through the blizzard website, and do the prologue. It gives you a free death knight hero, valued for 400dust

Easy: Some new players just buy the season's value bundle, and together with all the free stuff you get that's more than enough to make 1 or 2 real decks immediately. Combine that with 10,000 sites and streamers that explain the basic strategies and you can start smash face from day 1.

Would be nice if you highlighted the amount of bugs from the last few patches, the only gold cards etc, double battle cries in battlegrounds is currently broken, and a few others, any other competitive game would have these fixed in a day or two but not hs... really wish they would focus on fixing these issues that can just ruin curtain games.

I mean arena is of course a good value and honestly the fastest way to earn things but that is just a different run if you want to play constructed doing hours of arena to do so is not necessarily what you want to do. Now if you like arena and want to play constructed on the side going infinity on arena (very doable) is obvious a good option but this run that trump is doing is free to play legend in the first month so he wants to spend his time actually playing constructed not playing arenas
