I remember the Babat Tuban train whose tracks were in old condition at that time, similar to the Kalisat Panarukan route... and my friend said the train had flat tires when riding in the carriage. Thank you Mr John Raby for this very good video..😍😍

Whoa, finally a documentation video of Garut Station in 2001, didn't expect the emplacement would stay that pristine even after at that time 18 years of closure Currently Cibatu-Garut train line has been restored since early 2020 after work started in late 2018, however it is yet to be fully operational due to COVID-19 pandemic as well as ongoing construction project in the station. The station is currently being redeveloped into a very big station whilst retaining its original building.

Thank you for the extremely rare video of the Panarukan branch line, sir. I have never took the train to Panarukan. I only saw the train in Jember station when I was a child.

The days before the CC206 & CC205's were operating. BB3XX were also running on PJKA a lot, and now there is barely any left. ~ Greetings from the UK btw!

Emm aku rasa familyer btul sta.lawang mski udh ada ruko kiri kanan stasiun .dulu cm phon asem smua .sring main petasan disana .wktu SD 37 thn lalu.tptnya wktu livery krem hijau masa ttransisi ganti full hijau tua dgn strip putih. video dokumenter sllu menarik utk di buru..Than'x 4 rekomondasi.

Hiks.. belum sempat menikmati perjalanan KA Jember - Kalisat - Bondowoso - Situbondo - Panarukan (waktu itu masih SMA thn '95 - ' 98), jalurnya keburu di non-aktifkan. Alhamdulillah kini dapat video yg menjelaskan jalur tsb. Terimakasih banyak. Salut dgn video Anda. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Damn i remember riding those train. I usually go from panarukan to Jember The train is called "Tajemwangi" the ticket is not expensive too! from i remember it cost 2.000 rp But now The route is abandoned. No trains coming anymore. i really miss those times;(

The reactivation work is being carried out as we speaking. Old trackbeds and rails had been dismantled.

Thank you for sharing,sir 👍👍 AFAIK.. Once upon a time when there was a shortage of passenger cars at East Java region..so the railway company mixed Passenger Cars and Freight to served several Local-3rd Class trip

I think it was very much a market service with people bringing things to market. A passenger coach is not the best suited to passengers with that sort of 'luggage'.

Kami rindu dengan adanya kereta api di lintas Jember Bondowoso Situbondo, kini KA Lokal relasi Jember Situbondo sudah dipensiunkan beserta jalurnya dan stasiunnya pada 2004 lantaran fasilitasnya tidak memungkinkan/menentu Semoga di 2022 PT KAI, DJKA Kemenhub dan BTP Jatim membangun/mereaktivasi Jalur Kalisat Panarukan karena ada potensi pariwisata

Iya, Jalur Kalisat Panarukan ini jadi jalur mati kereta api yang paling layak direaktivasi oleh Kemenhub Ditjen Perkeretaapian, karena antusias masyarakat Bondowoso dan Situbondo mengembalikan budaya naik kereta api seperti dahulu tinggi dan ada unsur sejarah yakni Gerbong Maut, Bondowoso juga layak dibikin kereta wisata Loko uap seperti di Ambarawa, Solo (Jalan Slamet Riyadi) dan Sawahlunto.

@@musyaffaraffi6404 saya saja sangat mau stasiun Bondowoso - Situbondo - Panarukan aktif. Masih banyak Pekerjaan Rumahnya. Dari usaha yang ada di panarukan. Perusahaannya seperti PT. Karena akan sangat menguntungkan buat PT KAI kedepannya. Selanjutnya permintaan masyarakat. Apakah di kota tersebut mulai banyak terjadi kemacetan. Apalagi di Kota Bondowoso mulai banyak pembangunan seperti mall. Dan toko2 . Jalan jadi semakin ramai. Selanjutnya. Pemerintah dan Dirjen harus ada komunikasi. Apakah akan mereaktivasi atau tidak. Jika Dirjen setuju. Maka akan dilakukan reaktivasi Bondowoso Situbondo Panarukan kembali. aamiin

i just figure it now, why in the past railway track image with black and dirty...because at that time our loco was diesel hydraulic. Far different at present time where we now is using diesel electric

Don't forget that in steam days until the early 1980s the mainline locos such as D52 class burned heavy oil and a lot of that went on the track.

when I was kid, I often watched the train every afternoon in panarukan station because I live in there, but now the train operation is terminated by the government because is suffer financial loss. I miss that day sorry for my bad english

Hate to break it to you but it'll be hard to reinstate the Panarukan branch as it's a terminus branch. Even by roads it's faster to get to Probolinggo from Situbondo rather than by trains as trains have to go round the South route to Jember and Klakah first before getting to Probolinggo. Unless if the State Railway builds a through line from Panarukan to Probolinggo via Besuki, which I highly doubt, then it can compete with road transports. On the whole, despite of not really a fan of mainline trains, I enjoyed the first part of the video and the bit at Sindanglaut.

I agree that a coastal line from Probolinggo to Banyuwangi via Situbondo might make more sense as a modern high speed line. Not sure quite how far the old line got from Probolinggo - at least as far as Pajarakan - but the hill at Paiton doesn't seem unsurmountable. I wonder why they never built a tunnel there.

@@JohnRaby I think it was just a matter of technology wise and the knowledge at the time. Yes, there are some tunnels that were built then, but I think the soil was proven too hard as the hill is mostly made out rocks rather than compacted soil. Remember that tunnels back then were man made, where I think explosives were used. So if the rocks were exploded, the whole hill might have collapsed. But today, there's drilling machines, so knowledge and technology wouldn't be a problem. The biggest problem in South East countries, including Indonesia, is lack of political will.

ya namanya perusahaan jasa, kalo mau sustain ya harus bisa untung dari segi bisnis nya juga. kalo keuntungan yg didapat dr jalur ini kecil ya otomatis perawatan sarana dan prasarana juga pas2 an dan tidak maksimal, ujung2 nya keselamatan penumpang dan kru yang jadi taruhannya, bahkan kalopun ga terjadi kecelakaan ya konsumen bakal lebih milih alternatif lain
