In today's society Abraham would be facing jail time. But back in those days there wasn't really a judicial system so people could murder and get away with it easily. Abraham loved Issac but he loved Christ more. He also trusted God to show up and change the outcome of the situation. Remember Christ stopped Abraham from killing his son☀️ it was all a test. Abraham passed because he obeyed God and we are blessed right now till this day because Abraham obeyed God.

@ True, but let me add an element that most people miss . Immediately before God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac Abraham was given the covenant of Circumcision of the Heart. According to Moses Circumcision of the heart is a process of purification that can only be done by God himself. The result of circumcision of the Heart is the ability to Love God totally unconditionally as God loves us. When God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac it was a test of Abraham’s circumcision and his unconditional love , God was basically saying to Abraham “ Abraham, do you love me as I love you?, will you sacrifice your only son for me as I sacrificed my only son for you?” .
