he had to do because of aushwalen, but you could also argue the fact he left because Ichigo made up his mind to never join quincies, because that, zangetsu realised he failed to make him a quincy, because he just wanted to save Ichigo from dying to Yhwach, so, he was just a limiter to ichigo and for Ichigo to get stronger, he had to leave him so his limiter is gone and Ichigo can tap on to his true shinigami powers, as thats the path Ichigo has taken, Why is it a limiter, well because quincy powers doesn't work with hollow/shinigami powers don't mix together, but since OMZ is gone, Ichigo can now tap into any of the powers, and yes he still has his quincy powers.
