For anyone who was curious, the row of yellow blocks at 27:48 wasn't actually a softlock, carl checked the level in editor on stream and it just lead to a room with nothing in it.

Way back when SMM was only a few months old, I saw a "hold A" level that used almost the full 500 seconds, looping back around and around gaining powerups and busting blocks each time through. What was even more unique is that it ended with 000777770 points with 7 seconds left.... But I could never find it again!! It was in one of the many top 10 videos, and it must have been deleted or something because it was no longer in my history either.
