The danger is you cannot plant the corn seed. You need to buy corn seed from a specialized corn seed producer; most probably Monsanto. So if one American seed supplier cannot supply us maize seed we cannot plant. What happens in the event of an embargo or war then we all will die of hunger. Genetically modified maize is a source of food insecurity to Africans.

One main reason I like to travel to Nigeria at least every two years is to eat Nigerian food. American food have no taste. Whenever I leave Nigeria going back to America, I panic about going back to eat American good. Nigeria does not have the health care facilities to combat diseases that result from eating them genetically modified food. Money should not be the primary goal of food production, health should be considered also. Human rights groups should push that GMO foods are labeled so people can choose.

If GMOs are adopted, Africans are likely to become the largest users of GMOs in terms of scale and frequency. And if anything goes wrong, it will affect millions of people that the world has been trying to get rid of anyway. They say it is for food security. I’m wondering where this documentary is getting that it’s banned in US. Genetically modified crops are used all over the world. It’s the best way to improve yield, we can never combat hunger if we continue using our old ways

Please don't oo cos you can't replant the seeds when you start using GMOs. Now cocoa in Ghana can't last long they are dying off painfully during the harvest season and you always have to buy the seeds cos you can't use the seeds to plant again
