ah its so weird how well ur videos are made and how long u been here doing the same thing with legit original content but ur never pushed to my feed. I am only able to find ur new videos from time to time by remembering to go to my subscription tab. thanks for uploading and not just copying what everyone else is saying. btw, i feel like the gov shutdown is kind of a market manipulation to not issue lots of 10 years and supress the 10 yr bond rate with higher competetion inorder to push the cost down right before june/jully when that magic 10 year treasury auction locks in student loan rates.... wonder if the treasury runs out of money too early before the auction time if the yield could jump up to ~4% which will effectivly max out most student loans at ~11% for medstuends. i estimate that for every 1% of average interest increase the cost of an MD after a typical residency increases by 1M$ lol... thx for uploading

I'm totally serious when I say that the market slump and high expansion have me genuinely worried and stressed over retirement. I've been in the red for some time now and in spite of the fact that individuals say these emergency has it advantages, I'm flipping out however I get it Contributing is a drawn out game, so center around the long run.

What prevents the banks from raising the rate at which they lend on corporate AAA bonds? I understand the squeezing of the profit margin, but I don't feel you've really discussed what is preventing the banks from just increasing the lending rate for various products in step with the Fed rate increases.

what you explained is only on the revenue side. they have a huge amount of treasury bonds on their balance sheet that has gone down in value because of the rate hikes !

Isn't most of the bank's funding (the money used to lend to companies) from customer deposits? And they're paying near zero on these deposits, so the spread between customer deposits and the rate on corporate bonds is still sizeable, correct?

Banks fund loans with deposits, they only loan from the FED in liquidity emergencies.

Sure they loan out from deposits, but every night banks have to hold a certain amount of cash. Whenever a bank is short on cash that day, they either borrow from the fed or borrow from another bank. So it’s not necessarily just emergency situations.

As the FED's deposit rate increases competition between banks will ultimately drive clients deposits rates much higher as well since banks can just take that money and deposit risk free at the Fed.
