A college education isn't free. What's free in America. Nothing. College football players have to study game film, practice, do strength and weight training. Then study for their classes. What's free. Playing college football isn't free. The NCAA was making millions off free labor. This is the very reason the NCAA was sued for NIL. The NCAA could use a player's Name, Imagine, and Likeness to make money, but players couldn't use their own Name, Imagine and Likeness to make money. Unbelievable.

I am always fascinated when it comes to the framing of successful college football programs, and how people tend to put them on a pedestal. Over the years and time after time, we listen to people, players and the like describe these programs as the blueprint on how college football should be ran. Not one time has anyone really just came out to say what it truly is. Every year these successful programs gobble up the top talent and are in the hunt for national championships. The coaches are lauded to be the best in the business and it all a bunch of BULL. It's always been the Money for every single one of them for as long as I can remember. Now with the NIL and the Collectives everyone of those successful program are going to feel it as new powerhouses will emerge because their pockets are deep and it's allowed. The Bluebloods were the only ones in the past willing to buck the system and break the rules and didn't give a damn and long as they weren't caught.

Prime inherited a really, really, really bad 1-11 team. They got better with Dec ‘22 Portal, better with the Spring ‘23 Portal and went 4-8. They lost 6 games by a score or less, in a very good PAC12 (2 teams finish ranked in the top 6 end of season rankings). They then get better in Dec ‘23 portal and as of to date better with the Spring ‘24 Portal. The core of the teams has now had a year together, they’ve used the portal to plug holes, fill out the two deep. Who doesn’t think the Buffs will be better this coming year? The comparable is what Jedd Fisch accomplished at Arizona. He inherited a program that lost 12 games straight. He went 1-11 in ‘21, 5-7 in ‘22 and 10-2 in ‘23. He was praised by what he accomplished in his tenure at Arizona. Deion, has already outperformed him in year 1. I have the Buffs winning 8 games in year 2 which would be outperforming Fisch again. The reality is The Buffs won’t get any credit as social media and the media have created the perfect us against them model to drive clicks and ratings. I like watching this Buffs team it’s interesting to see if Deion is going to outfox the smartest people in the room (talking head media that have lambasted him).

But, in the situation of kids looking for a place to play? I guess it's convenient to say they just going because it's deion. I think people that can go to deion have a little bit more direction on the different opportunities they have been presented. Kids pick deion because he is a player, with 2 player sons and they can relate to him more then Ben honeysuckle , ex d2 3rd stringer who had good friends hire him up the coaching ladder. They relate to deion because they know he is the product. Big difference on expectations when you can see your teacher doing what he teaches instead of some guy who didn't even play your position, along with alot of other non similarities you two may share. You gotta a mission to get clicks tho. But, naw, the athletes ain't just running upthere because it's deion. They ran up there because it was Nick tho and yall ain't expose that. Ps, my next door neighbor played 4 years for nick , he is in the NFL now at Atlanta. So, I know the good and bad on Alabama too.

The coverage of Deion & Colorado is because THEY put all of their stuff out on social media, with his son and others running the media... Saban didn't do that. Also, people confuse what Deion did as a PLAYER versus what he did as a COACH... we discussed this in the interview as well
