JABY THE RESION WHY WE EAT FROM HANDS...... The practice of eating with the hands originated within Ayurvedic teachings. The Vedic people believed that our bodies are in sync with the elements of nature and our hands hold a certain power. Ayurvedic texts teach that each finger is an extension of one of the five elements: Through the thumb comes space. And also it stimulates our brain nervous system with mouth

It is called "the Indian Subcontinent" for a reason. It is not just one country, it is a mixture of several, regions, weathers, cultures having the same roots coming together, sharing and helping each other and everyone having the same notion/saying that "Vasudaiva Kutumbakam" (Sanskrit) which translates to "The world is one family".

The Indian Subcontinent would mean India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Burma, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka - all the countries that were part of India. Not India alone. And "Vasudaiva Kutumbakam" has been only popularised in recent decades not a general virtue we aspire for.

There is science behind eating with our hands, even though most of us now a days don't. While indulging in any activity & experiencing and enjoying it a 100% you want all your senses awakened, similarly while eating and to enjoy the food, we say that we don't just eat with our mouths, we smell and see and also feel the food. Feeling the food with your fingers add to the experience of eating. There is also another theory which says that the nerves and blood vessels get activated when we are touching or breaking the food which start to stimulate the digestive and circulatory systems and makes it work better.

Jaby, dont get confused with official language and national language. India has many recognised national languages, but not one single national language. Hindi and english are the official languages of the union government. All states local governments have their own statel official languages.
@dragonforcegaming7555
@dragonforcegaming7555 2 жыл бұрын
Actually English is more official union language than Hindi but because our capital is Hindi that is why hindi is more like imposed on the union territories because they are not a state to have a CM and so fall directly under the GOI even after having Union Govs. Each state has a language which is more welcoming and understandable to the people as the official state language with English being the official most popular and job language. Like Marathi is the official language of Maharashtra yet the accent of people varies across the complete state because of intermixing with the other language accents and historical issues

It's often put that way that if you eat your food from your hand, it tastes different/better than using cutlery. But I like this version that I heard/read somewhere: Food is consumed in different stages- first we look, then we smell, then comes the touch(when using the hand) and then the actual taste. In fact the only sense left is hearing - which is there while cooking the food or even taking a bite. This way we are so close to our food. By removing that 1 feeling by using cutlery, we are not bringing ourselves to connect with our food the way we should. Thus, I think by using our hands we enhance our connection towards the food, and that in turn makes the food better(or more delicious)☺️ **Make Achara read this. I am sure she will understand.**

When you eat with hands you are not just having the taste of food with your tongue but you are also feeling the food with the touch. You are feeling the texture, density, size etc. And that, subconsciously, adds to your experience of that food. You enjoy it more.

I don't think using hands has anything to do with taste. One of the major food items here are puri, paratha and roti all of them are like paper and you are suppose to torn them into smaller pieces to consume, which can not be done with any spoon or fork. Hence people use their hands. Rice on the other hand is consumable with spoon and hence many of us use spoon to eat rice but if you are eating curry or lets say chicken then you need to use your hands again to have your preferable amount of vegetables or chicken meat mixed in the rice. For which some of us prefer hands again.

When you're using hands to mix rice and lets say dal it mixes really well if you do it with your hands. It's not possible with spoon or fork. Also the mixing should be better for digestion and obviously the taste.

Actually our finger tips can sense the texture of the food and that signal goes to our brain then our tongue and nose do the 2nd task... By this way our appetite is fulfilled and we get a speach less satisfaction. That is the secret of eating by empty hand (right hand). The 2nd reason is that, we can grab more delicious food by our hand than a spoon or chopsticks and fill our appetite instantly... My English is so bad... Please those who can speak English fluently please share my message by their own statement...

I have been watching Korean Shows for the last 6 months or so and I also realized how similar Korean culture is to Indian culture. The shows and movies are very similar to south Indian movies in terms of the stories and drama. The people are also similar, in the way they react especially when they're laughing, happy, annoyed, angry. If you put south Korean movies and south Indian movies beside each other the reactions will be so similar. Also, I heard many words that sounded like south Indian words, I think Jaby reacted to some video of an Indian professor in south Korea taking about this. I realized that before watching the video though.

The logic behind eating food by your hand is as you touch it you get the sensation of the texture of food and your body starts to prepare itself for what's coming it's good for the taste and digestion

As far as language in India is concerned, there is officially "trilingual formula" used to maintain central government documents throughout India that is officially every state must use Hindi, English and local language. For example, in Maharashtra central government's official record are maintained in English, Hindi, and Marathi (local language of Maharashtra.)

Eating with hand has a good use. It's been taught since I was a kid. Grandparents said the process of breaking down food begins by hand. Indian foods are served hot and mostly to be mixed like idly and sambar or rice and curry or chappati and sides. The hand can tell our brain the temperature, and texture of the food and break it down before it starts from the mouth and feeds portions as our mouth desires each time we take a bite. Hands too can feel the possibility of foregin objects in food .
