We are looking at more than just a rock slide. 0:17 to 0:22 All that metal roofing blew from some where At 1:47 Notice all the black material piled up over the trail. Water moved this. Same at 2:04, that gully is filled in by new water moved material. At 2:50 the "H" is where the memorial is now. Notice the puddles of water and all the sticks are lined up with the canyon. It kinda looks like a huge flood, but things were not moved far enough. From 2:50 to 3:04 all those buildings were flattened by water. 3:05 to 3:20 all that black stuff is dirt deposited by water. The way that it is cracked suggests that it was mixed with a lot of ice and snow that melted away. Also on the south side of the canyon all the trees have fallen in the same direction. This was more than a rock slide. A glacier probably broke loose. Possibly releasing a lake that was behind it.

I had the good fortune to trek up the majestic Langtang Valley in late February early March 1990. At the time Langtang village was just a few remote homes. No more than 40 people max. So sad to see the immense destruction experienced here. Thank you for uploading the video. Bless Nepal . . .

Le matin du 25 avril, jour du tremblement de terre qui s'est produit vers midi, nous avons quitté le village de Langtang pour nous rendre à Bamboo lodge. Quelle chance nos avons eu... Merci beaucoup pour ce film.

I can imagine how bad the damage must have been. But what specifically were the damages to the national park itself?

Not much. It's a huge place. But the valley is gone forever

I don’t believe in mountain climbing, I think putting such a hefty tax on your body is almost a sin. I also don’t believe in living in extreme danger areas when there are much safer alternatives. I am not saying there is a full proof place to live but there are areas that pose less risks.

The truth? There’s plenty of videos with explanations. Why would anybody have to live in a godforsaken valley like that anyway.

Dafaq? Coz they've been living there for thousands of years, maybe? Dafaq kinda logic is that?
@mythbuster8602 жыл бұрын
@@kshitijthapa2205 Actually 60-70 years. At nearby Tamang territory people are living for thousands of years, but at Langtang valley most of people are tibetan refugees after CCP occupation of Tibet.
