Oh Jazzy, I remember that day clearly when you left our family home of 25 years! Just watching you, Bella, Izzy and Crystal drive away. I ran alongside you crying and you were bawling too. I was so happy for you and your family, starting your new life and living your dream. It was bitter sweet. I was never prepared for my children to leave our family home. Cam was away at University and now you were leaving to follow your dream. I cannot even begin to put into words how I was feeling. I was feeling numb with emptiness. As I always say “ my children are everything”! Our little family of 3 with 3 fur babies was done to 1 and 1 fur baby. So proud of you Jazzy and Crystal too. Miss my Bella and Izzy! ❤ ❤Love you all! Xoxoxo

Laurie, this was a beautiful comment. I can almost feel your pain as they all leave. Numb and empty; yea I get it. My little girl (38) has lived here in Minneapolis area where I do for around 25 year (something like that). Now she's going to follow her boss out to Texas in June. I told her I wished she would stay and how much I feel TX is a crappy place to live. I'll shut up now and hope to "see" more of you down the road. Bernie ❤

I have loved watching you women build, learn, grow and expand your lives for the past three years. You amaze me with your love for each other and your drive to make your dream come true. I am a 70-year-old single woman with COPD, and I spent my younger years working and going to college and then into 43 years of teaching deaf kids. I don't regret any of that, but it was so totally different from the way you two are growing and living. At this point in my life I don't have the health or the strength to do as much as I would like to do. I love decorating my deck with flowers and wind chimes and having my herb garden for cooking. I used to mow my rather large yard myself, weed eat, climb on the roof and blow off pine needles, clean the gutters, create flower gardens, plant azaleas and trees and shrubs. I can't do that anymore, and it makes me angry. But thanks to you two, I get to live vicariously through you each Sunday and watch how it was to be young and ambitious. Thank you, and may you continue to create your dream. 💗

I was born and raised in Alaska and lived in Bush Alaska doing most of what you girls talked about. I use to help my brother get cord wood: cutting trees with a saw, bucking it up to 4’-5’foot lengths, putting it on the sled, taking it out of the woods, sawing it up to usable lengths, chopping the wood, stacking it, hauling it into the house and waking up at 2:00-3:00 A.M. to add wood to the stove to keep the house warm. I’ve grown up doing this!

WOW and thanks for these 'casts !!!! i am late 70's, and am so pleased to see so many young people like yourselves out there living and enjoying such wonderful fulfilling and more simpler lives. There is so much "rubbish" going on in the world these days which creates negativity and all the flow on effects of that, but then I tune in to the many young "you tubers" I follow, and it is so uplifting following the adventures, and the personal growth which flows from their endeavors. Having followed you for a long time I have got so much enjoyment from your "have a go" attitude, and the fun and joy you bring to your videos. I hope you will make it down to Australia to catch up with Max and Occi when they move onto their new "home".....Thanks again, Stay safe and well.

Hi, I am from the UK and in 1999 I bought 21acres in Cape Breton and built my own house. So listening to you guys holds so much feeling and memories for me, my main one was the feeling of belonging and freedom. Loving when you said you can not wait to get home. I eventually did leave CB, as my wife wanted to go back home to our grown up kids, (when I did I cried my eyes out).

You got me thinking when you first arrived at your cabin, how overgrown everything was. Then the memory of your journey, updating and repairing so many things. How brave Jaz was doing the roof, and Crystal trying to overcome her fear of heights, when she was on the greenhouse roof, I think doing the vent. Jaz was saying something to Crystal, she turned around to Jaz and said “you are not helping” I could go on. I will finish and say Love to you both from Mike. ❤❤

One really cool thing about watching you guys is how you are so diverse in your individual skills. Face it, when I watch videos with straight couples, in just about all of them, the Husband is really the "mastermind" who has all the skills, and the Wife is generally a very capable and useful set of hands, helping the Husband. You guys break that mold so beautifully. From what I can tell, Jaz has the "reckless energy" to try something new or do the scary thing, like climb on the roof. Crystal is the one with patient persistence, who will read every page of the assembly manual to figure out how to build a thing. But then I see Crystal tackle the thing I thought for sure that Jaz would do, or I see Jaz specializing in the electrical system when I thought for sure that would be a Crystal thing. You guys break the mold and I love it! I think it would be a fun podcast sometime to talk about which things you each, individually think are your "specialty".

I vividly remember your first days on your property. You are generally upbeat, but I always wondered how often you looked at each other and said “what have we done?” Highlights of this podcast: focusing on the neighboring community you are becoming a part of and looking out for each other-in New Mexico, we have a similar chore to hogging, it is clearing out the acequia/ditch in preparation for sharing the spring water for irrigation, a chore that has continued for hundreds of years-; connecting the puzzle pieces with the puzzles you found in the attic, it is like you have the frame of the puzzle done and some of the interior, but many more pieces to go; I remember talking with you about TV watching and the joy of mindless entertainment-I’m waiting on the final episode of The Farmer Wants a Wife and enjoyed Alaska Daily, The Company You Keep, Will Trent and Indian Matchmaker these days-you never did fess up to your guilty pleasure; hearing that Porter will be on the podcast soon. Woo hoo. Since you are both accomplished cooks, I wonder about the behind the scenes division of labor in that area. You do show us how you -literally-feed each other, but how do you manage that part of your lives? Thanks for another great episode, you three looked so relaxed during the podcast. I imagined Bella snoozing on the floor next to the sofa. ❤

😂I love the way Jaz just casually drops in the comment "I used to be a Magician" 😂Jaz did you have a special magic name? I love chopping wood & I love making, tending & socializing around fires. As for behind the scenes Id like to know your process of how you decide/prioritize what jobs you are going to do. How you you go about that. It must be a nightmare! There are & were so many things that needed doing when you arrived. Also because you are so remote buying, ordering & getting deliveries to be able to do the jobs & projects must be difficult & I imagine very frustrating. So how does that effect you? You are both amazing! Chrystal I think you meant Rugged not ridged cos you definitely are not rigid. You are both so adaptable & flexible. Its so good to a happy Lesbian couple living their dreams in the woods. You two are living the the life I would have loved. Im 60 now & just never found the right woman but I am converting my little Wagon R into a micro camper. Its great you are doing your podcast. I love it & I love you two & your girls! ❤❤❤❤

Ladies, another great podcast. Again, let me say that I watch on KZbin but there are fans listening in non-visual channels. Maybe take a second and set your placing, like "we're on the white couch and Izzy is sleeping on the couch at Crystal's feet". Takes a couple of seconds but sets the scene. Loved the sound effects for Jasmine's potty mouth words. In tribute to something you talked about, acquiring new skills or knowledge, I will share the adage I gave to my classes. "Lifelong learning is every barking day. If you didn't learn a single new barking thing today, you should have stayed the bark in bed." Now I'm not saying learn the ins and outs of drywalling in one day, just a new piece of knowledge, information or simple skill. You girls are inspirational.

I grew up loving cabin life. Though it was only for 2 weeks in the summer. It was amazing. My dad was born in Canada and we would travel to see the old homestead and visit the many family members. The cabin we stayed in had a huge wood stove to cook and heat with. A hand pump for cold water, and the outhouse out back. I'm a city kid , but I fell in love with cabin life. I've never had the opportunity to experience winter, but I have lived through harsh winters. I like the snow globe effect, that is till I have the need to venture out. Looking forward to the next projects of cabin life. You both have created your own personal oasis in the woods. Porter is amazing looking forward to hearing about him helping you both.

That was a fast 45 minutes and a fun listen. It is good to get a little feeling of how you started out overwhelmed and a little afraid but were brave enough to push through. There is a certain peace that comes from knowing that whatever you come up against, you will find a way to get through it. That is not to say you will necessarily ace it on the first try but keeping the words "I can't" out of your vocabulary has made both of you very strong women. Failing at something just means it is time to learn a new way. In a sense, winning is a let down because that becomes a done deal and now you have to move on to slay yet another dragon. Life is a series of stepping stones toward an ultimate goal. Taking them one at a time will continue to get you closer to your goal and also encourage you to modify your dream, perhaps turning it into an even bigger and better dream.
