I don't know if they are *only* doing this as a joke, but this shit is seriously starting to speak to me. It's absurdity and the mix between creepy, funny and legitimately majestic vibes in both imagery and music resonate with some part of me that is starved. I am sure this is just some sort of parody, so I feel like an idiot feeling this is actually one of the most progressive shit I have heard in a while.

I think the original clown core stuff from way back was just two bored and talented musicians making a gag band but this new stuff is pretty complex in comparison. Lots of other bands get by doing weird stuff like this

Imagine waking up from a coma after 15 years... You’re thrust from the hospital to assimilate to a new life. A new culture. You turn on the radio to hear that one thing hasn’t changed. Annoying, deep voiced men shouting the station name at you. “WCOK BRINGING YOU THE BEST HITS OF 2033!” The transition sound plays, and from the silence that follows... this song plays.

I think humans evolved to have some kind of reward mechanism attached to the idea of finding meaning or purpose in things. The interesting thing about art is that it is developed in such a way that the creator and the consumer both find different meanings but the fact they find it is what gives it the meaning. It's the same mechanism that allows for someone to see things in clouds and ink blots or the message in a poem or song. Specifically that feeling once you see whatever it is that you see, not just the ability to see things but the reward system attached to that process. The conclusions discovered can vary widely but the journey each person goes through is what makes the whole experience rewarding and personal/meaningful. I think art plays on this system we have developed for survivalistic reasons but we've found some alternative ways to resonate with that.

0:00 - 0:25 the frantic life of a common lizard we scurry in the dirt and leaves living the everyday struggle to survive, eating, fighting, shitting, fucking, trying to avoid becoming prey 0:26 - 0:28 some person comes along smoking a joint and spots the lizard, frozen in a bid to avoid being seen 0:28 - 0:31 the person blows a cloud over the lizard 0:31 - 0:32 zoom to the lizard's eye as some sort of new realization makes itself apparent to the lizard's simple brain 0:32 - 0:37 the lizard thinks new thoughts it didn't know it could have 0:38 a new fresh breath for the lizard 0:39 - 0:44 it blinks... the thoughts flood in until 0:48 - 2:02 epiphany! The lizard runs around with an entirely new perspective on its world and what surrounds it. It notices things the way it never did before. Things beyond itself and it's survival are all around. Its world is magical and interesting now, the water drops falling, a lady bug flying, pollen in the winds, the amazement of the lizard's world beyond just survival is absorbed as the lizard runs around observing the world its newly learned to learn about. 2:02 the realization that it is only a fragile lizard in a garden where its life is a daily struggle for survival becomes more and more looming as it realizes despite any enlightenment or epiphany it must... 2:08 SURVIVE! a repeat of the first sequence with the lizard running from place to place to eat, fight, fuck, and shit, avoiding becoming prey, regardless of any grand realizations, it is caught in the trap of its surroundings, with its newfound awareness the lizard even more conscious of the struggle it is caught within. We see this play out until the final beep upon which the lizard is snatched up by a bird.
