Thanks for posting this. I was there at Six Flags in 1978 and this was the first time I heard TRUTH. As a trumpet player I had never heard brass with contemporary Christian music and I was blown away by it. I am still playing trumpet for worship.

It's amazing how there is so even footage of Steve in the 80s and even the 70s and yet none from his time with the Vocal Band in the early 80s.

One of my all time favorite songs. I loved this album (still have it).

I think I see my old friend and worship pastor I served with, Donald G. Wolf on trombone on this video. I think his wife Lily is one of the vocalists on this too, but they never get a clear shot of her up close. This is one of my favorite arrangements of this song ever. I feel fortunate to have gotten to know Roger Breland slightly because Truth would come and visit our church when they were touring in the Seattle area. Roger was truly a great mentor and teacher of so many folks who went on to serve in Worship Ministry, or become music artists in the industry. If I recall, it was something like 95% of former Truth members went on to serve in ministry somewhere.

@@benjaminpastrana9662 Thanks for the response. I just got back from subbing leading worship at a church, last minute. It's so cool to see live video from the group from that time period. Right after this(Fall '79), Don Wolf was the band TA for one quarter at my high school. He'd gone back to Central Washingon University to finish his Mus. Ed degree. Those couple months were to change the course of my musical life, where I'd go to college, without myself, nor Don realizing it. We were to meet again13 years later on a church Valentine Day Sweetheart cruise which Truth Alum Trumpet player Roy Herzer(same time period) had put together for his church. Don was playing trombone on the gig and we reconnected. Don's church where he was serving knew they would be losing their keyboardist, Scotty Krippayne(Scotty K) who was moving to Nashville to do songwriting. Later that year I ended up joining Don and Lily serving at a church for the next 10 years. It was a great time of service as well as growth for the church and as a side benefit, it helped me hone my playing, leading, and arranging skills. Don left after that to go teach with Roger at the University of Mobile for a few years. He and Lily came back and served at Northwest University teaching on the faculty there. I think he's down in TX or AZ now.

Truth was formed in Alabama. Roger Breland was the brother of Bill Breland who was my Minister of Music for several years and took my youth group choir on what was the best year of my youth group experience. I got to play the piano and sing an “ Evie” song called “Mirror” during our trip with Truth. Oh how I wish today’s youth could have the same experience! Steve Green married Mary Jean McCarty from my are church.

Thanks so much for posting! I first heard Truth in 1976, as a ministerial intern in Jackson, Mississippi, and I immediately fell in love with their music. Do you happen to have a concert version of Art Ortiz's solo, "The Lord is My Light"? Peace and blessings.

@@XzoopunkX I know people who deeply love the Lord and they are musically terrible. 😆 Your argument is yours and its ok, for yourself. I have a different opinion and I am a musician too, so I can have the musical opinion as well. Enjoy yours and I will keep mine. Shalom.

@@XzoopunkX Your opinion is laughable. Its my opinion. The only fool is you, trying to impose your mentality pattern on others. Calling me fool make YOU the fool here. Get a life. You are obviously comatose already.

@@YossefDPerez "A fool does not delight in understanding, But in revealing his own mind." Proverbs 18:2 -To believe your opinion as superior is laughable. It surprises me how anyone can make a negative comment, beyond a mere preference opinion, without cuth... especially when it's music that has been popular for decades and touched hundreds of thousands of lives, and while I could go on, it is pointless. Too bad.
