That one was tense. I will say this. I've always believed that when a person is drunk or steaming mad, that's when you find the truth. Everybody puts up safety curtains. Everybody. There is always a sense of civility or fear that keeps our darkest secrets at bay. But add alcohol or rage, and those curtains get pulled aside. Maybe just a smudge or maybe all the way. But they do. And then the truth comes out. This was a story that I think every listener can understand.

And sure enough, Natalie really reveals her true feelings once Liam stands his ground and ends the engagement. Also, I'm glad he pointed out to Natalie how Ethan treats women, but it would've been interesting to find out if she still goes after Ethan, and she ends up being another notch on his belt. Good story, to the point and no annoying flowery words (aka word salad), like so many if these stories do.

Actually, this was a moment of serendipity for Liam. Every time in the story she would talk about it being a "silly kids game" I think to myself, If it's a "silly kids game" why was it so important to tell that truth? That story made no sense. Her inner thoughts at the beginning were about how much she loved him and couldn't wait to be with him but then at the end it turns out she's never actually cared and was just trying to move up and is a monster? So she was... what? Lying to herself internally for no reason? I don't understand... I think that part was thrown in at the end because if it wasn't then some people would look at how he threw away an engagement to a woman he loved over her thinking someone else was better looking, and a terrible inability to communicate properly from both of them. Which some might think that she wasn't the only toxic person in this relationship if they did that, so she had to become evil so that everyone goes "phew, dodged a bullet".
