It's used in chemistry pretty often, to seperate different chemicals, like in something like blood, for example. All the cells would go towards the end bottom end of the tube, while lighter things like water would stay up top. It's pretty useful and pretty cool to see in action. I recommend looking up videos about it. Very interesting stuff! C:

I was there at the Divine Comedy show with the Matt masks. I thought it was hilarious when he stabbed one with a pencil, because he was the Joker and he was demonstrating a magic trick.
