Chris’s mom mentioning that Suni Lee, the olympic gold medalist, is Hmong makes me so happy 🥺 I’m also a Hmong Minnesotan and her win was MAJOR for our community! Hmong people came to the US as refugees in the 80s, after fleeing the mountains of Laos and Thailand (Southeast Asia) because of the Vietnam war. There are only about 400,000 Hmong people in the US today and most Americans haven’t even heard of our ethnic group, so the fact that it was mentioned in this episode means so much to me! ❤️
