The war question is a difficult one, especially with the military industrial complex and the fact war is profitable for some. Pacifism isn't necessarily inaction. The choices aren't just war and inaction. Diplomacy is also a choice. Diplomacy is also a way to take action. All wars eventually end with some kind of negotiation as people wiser than me have said, so it's better to expedite that process. You don't have to fly to the war zone to be justified in taking a standpoint that privileges peace and diplomacy over war. Of course, it'll depend on the reasons for the conflict. There's a different between insurgents resisting occupation for instance, and a war of aggression for example. However, I feel the 'just war' theory is extremely limited as so few wars are, especially in the present age.
