Wow I was really blessed by Mark's message, I agree with the above comment.

Now I have to rethink the ministry I'm called to.

Abraham shows us the dangers and consequences of speed when he tried to help God instead of waiting on Him. We should never focus in what is not our job. The results ALWAYS belong to God and not to us. 🤷🏽♀️ “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.” (I Corinthians 3:6-8 NKJV)

I've been a Christian 37 years and a layman. This gives a good sermon, but I believe it misses one of the most important points: James 3:1 There are too many pastors. We should DISCOURAGE men from going into the ministry, and forbid women. Way too many men confuse a true calling for a multitude of sinful desires like: power, the love of respectful greetings ( none should be called Reverend but God) and laziness. Are good pastors needed, and are they around? Yes, I am a Church member with 2 men who are humanly speaking good pastors, and I am blessed to be there. This is not a rant against the visible Church. All I am saying is pay attention to James 3:1, we have too many pastors.

Too many Pastors? There are no churches without Pastors? There are no cities who need a Pastor to plant a Gospel preaching church? Too many Pastors?

I'm glad you pointed this out. Pay attention to the reason in James 3:1 he gives for why not all should be teachers "*for* you will be judged with greater strictness." The lives of Pastors must be walking according to the Word they breach and be accountable to the flock of God. So yes James 3:1 must be brought to our attention but not to say we need less Pastors but more truth-filled, godly, gracious men who will nurture God's people to mature faith
