Listening, reading or just mere intellectual understanding of the message or discourses is not enough. Such efforts are helpful, but they do not liberate. Truth liberates only when it is practiced and lived out in our waking state or daily lives. To put the message or principles in practice is the real challenge. Meditation is a method, not the end goal. The end goal is supreme rest or peace and beyond any thoughts or words. Purity of mind, honesty, fearlessness and earnestness are pre-requisites for a seeker. Talk is cheap and easy. Truth resounds and resonates in silence.
