Hi Gordon, thank you for sharing your personal experiences. The role of lawyers often comes across as very strictly professional and thus sometimes intimidating, so I really appreciate how you bring discussions a bit more "down to earth." Can relate to some of the difficulties you mentioned with language barriers and standing out in a crowd. I'm in a bit of a reverse situation though as I'm actually a Chinese Canadian currently doing my law degree in HK - I can fit into everyday life as I speak Cantonese, but don't understand some social conventions here and I don't speak Mandarin (which is something that I am concerned will hold me back in developing a career, legal or otherwise). Anyway, I find your insight most enlightening!
