You do great work! You should collaborate with Scale Builder's. Where you build the chassis and cage and running gear and he does the body and interior details. Then you guys sell it and donate the proceeds for a good cause. Would make great video series anyway.

I watched a few of your videos now and like what I saw. The difference with "other RC channels" are these kind of builds. From the ground up, all done by you. I really respect, enjoy and envy your craftsmanship and capability. +1 sub from this side of the ocean. Thanks for sharing.

I would look into using weldment profiles for your tubes. it a simple tool in solidworks that allows you to place tubes along a line, it does curves to, and you can create the cuts for the ends where tube intersect. Its a lot quicker than doing a reference plane and then sweeping the circle along the line. there is plenty of youtube tutorials on it.

You should look into swagelok hand tube benders for all you bending. I work with these every day and love them. I think they would work great for this application. They range from 1/8" tubing up to 1/2" tubing when I get ready to do some cage work I will be using them. They are very precise for bend radius.
@HarleyDesignsInc5 жыл бұрын
Those are the benders many of us started with. They work but the radius is normally too large to get the most scale look. So many of us have bought specialty benders that can do tighter bends and are built more specific to this work.

I’ve seen that one, pretty nice. I have another bender by Oakenshield which is nice also but for solid rod, this simple one is perfect and it bends tighter.

Sweet, i love fab videos! The print outs and everything really make me want to step up my efforts and learn. Is your machine 110 or 240? I traded some parts a while back for a tig. Really debating if I want to go through the hassle of installing a 240 circuit in my basement workshop, the machine can do both, but amperage is obviously limited. I would probably still need a dedicated 110 circuit if I went that route. Or I can freeze in my garage when I want to do metal work. It already has a 240 being an old auto shop. Thoughts?
@HarleyDesignsInc5 жыл бұрын
As we discussed in the live feed, I run a 110v system since my amperage stays pretty low.
@rcmike095 жыл бұрын
Maybe use some magnets on the body so when it attaches in the rear. Then you dont have body clips to lose and the body would move instead of break on a hard hit??
@HarleyDesignsInc5 жыл бұрын
I like your thinking! The body is really stable right now so it doesn’t need much!

are you going to mark your videos as made for kids for this COPPA act issue coming for content creators? as i understand it we make videos with toys whether we think its for adults or not FTC will be sweeping.. i guess if you dont monetize it doesnt matter? thanks
@HarleyDesignsInc5 жыл бұрын
I am not, I just have to hope that since all of our RC’s are marked for 14+ that I can continue as is. Because if we do, comments, notifications, and so many other features will be disabled. If that happens, KZbin will be pointless for me and I’ll have to find another outlet.
@GeneralHobbies5 жыл бұрын
@@HarleyDesignsInc yea, im trying to be optimistic about the age thing when its clearly marked on boxes like you said.... but these ftc people might not look at it the same and go after some people, not all im sure but some. just trying to get some thoughts. thanks for the reply.

I have to be hopeful for common sense but it’s not something I can bank on. I’ll honestly mark them as I see is correct and see how they react as time goes.
@johnbasterson79385 жыл бұрын
@@HarleyDesignsInc in what world does "common sense" say a toy isn't for kids just because the manufacturer has to jump through legal hoops and claim their product is for 14+ to avoid lawsuits when younger kids get hurt using their product? Do not be naive. Protect yourself.
@HarleyDesignsInc5 жыл бұрын
If it were just showing a toy then I’d be more inclined to say I’d be out of luck, but most of my content is technical info that isn’t aimed at children. The stipulation says content that is “intended” or “appealing” to children which is not really what my content is. My analytics generally show that 35-44 is the largest subset of my viewership. Like I said, if I have to fall into that group, then I’ll likely have to stop doing KZbin as it will stop being a viable way of getting content to people.
