@@kwikfixer hello, I just bought a vm26 mikuni carb kit for my sons trx 90 with the 114 big bore, the new carb only has 1 fuel inlet, but his fuel tank has 2 fuel lines. How do I deal with that Situation?
@kwikfixer2 жыл бұрын
@@gamebredduramax71 .. you'll first need to realize , the vm26 is in general too large for most 114cc builds, without significant other mods. Mainly ,the airway/slide venturi is just too big ,and vacuum loss causes big issues with low eng bogging,and mid range lack of good throttle response. I'd recommend a vm22 generally. Uses a different intake though, similar to stock intake bolt on Mount style. You can try a much richer needle , for the kx65 in the vm26 ,and it may remedy the problems. To the original question, you'll look under the fuel tank , see the 2 hoses, one is FUEL ON..OTHER RESERVE.. BLOCK OFF THE fuel ON ( UPPER NIPPLE I BELIEVE). AND USE ONLY THE RESERVE NIPPLE. always use a clear, inline filter as well. Happy modding ✌️

Tia Wright .. I'm not affiliated with tbolt.. but the carb does best with 17.5 or 20 pilot... and the carb needle may need to be changed to a kx65 dirtbike needle. according to needle that works best the main jet will generally be 155-175.. the carb and intake that come in kit are a bit too big .. and you'll likely want look into a CHP trx90 long intake and possibley the keihin or Mikuni 22 mm carb

Can I contact you about the 300ex swing arm ? Email, phone ? Just wanna know what you did to make it work thanks

Ok sweet thanks man, so would you reccomend the same jets with that needle or would i wanna go smaller like you?
@kwikfixer8 жыл бұрын
go with the 135-165.. no telling which till you try them.. and 17.5 pilot 99.9% of time....or 20p if motors flowing a bit inefficient. air screw generally 3/4-1.3/4 out after hot to run smoothest at high idle... like 2k or so...then return idle to normal after adjusting for highest rpm cleanest running setting

How hard is it to convert the front end to a 300EX and can the new models be converted
@kwikfixer Жыл бұрын
It's not too hard. All the trx models are basically the same in that regard. The kits that use actual 300 arms ,are very heavy and don't handle that well. The better option is to use aftermarket long travel kits ,made specific for the trx90.

Just delete.. block everything off..it introduces air to the exhaust to help burn off impurities

Do you know what jets you are running?
@kwikfixer8 жыл бұрын
on mine it's a custom carb somewhat.. but use the fat kx65 needle..and 17.5 P....135-165 mj.. according to your flow

+kwikfixer i see i built a 114 v2 and i am struggling with the pilot. I have a 22.5 an its hesitant off idle the air screw is 1/2 turn out an i was told to go bigger on the pilot , but you say your running the 17.5. Have you ever ran a bigger pilot? Thanks for all your help in advance
@kwikfixer8 жыл бұрын
Your needle is too lean.. If you wanna run a big vm26 carb on a 114cc or smaller Honda crf/trx based.. Here's the needle you'll want to use in most cases with vm26 on 114 or smaller 5GSP68.... For Kawasaki kx65
@kwikfixer8 жыл бұрын
17.5 P.... and the mains I mentioned...the richer and shorter needle changes everything jet wise
@kwikfixer8 жыл бұрын
With the needle your likely running it takes a 20-22.5 P.... and 175 or so main jet. But the bog will never jet out..needle is for 124+cc that they sell the 4 stroke vm26 with
