As a filipino who has eaten Durian and in some of parts of the Philippines has it as a delicacy (Durian Candy from Davao), Durian doesn't actually taste bad, the smell is much worse but its really delicious

If you looking for ideas for try not to eat you should do a series of unfortunate events there’s so many things to try like the pasta puttanesca coconut cream cake chilled cucumber soup fried egg sandwich with toasted rye & runny yolk cheer up cheese burgers(with mints) the cake sniffed by Carmelita

The only problem with Durian fruits is it’s Spikey outer skin and the strong odor (aroma) it completely different from a Jack fruit . Jack Fruit can resemble the Durian but smoother skin and has a sweeter aroma than the Durian it has small yellow sections of edible chewy flesh and the seeds can be boiled like peanut butter with a bit creamy flavor ( I don’t know how to describe the boiled seed taste )
