I was going to say, I remember when that happened. The kid took a homemade clock with open electronic components inside of a suitcase to school. I mean, anyone with decent electronics knowledge could've figured out pretty quickly that it was just a clock, but it DEFINITELY looked like a bomb.

@mordan From the coverage I saw, it wasn’t even a homemade clock. The kid took the insides of a common clock and repackaged it. The witnesses said he kept pulling it out at weird times as if to prompt a reaction. Also turned out that the kid’s father (or maybe uncle - I forget) was a political activist and 15l4maph0bi4 was a hot-button item at the time. I don’t remember most of the info about it, but just like the ‘w4terb0arding’ incident on a school ground in the UK, it seems pretty clearly to have been a Ju55i3 5mol13t- like situation.
