5:26: Yeah, US Amerricans don't deeply think about any other Country on a large scale. Only in a superficial sense in categories that broadly favours their own believes. That's why they still think they live in the greatest country in the world, even if in many metrics they fall behind. That's not to say that the US is the worst country there is. Probably far from it. But making a population think that by design lets them disregard change that might be beneficial. The impact will be mitigated via the import of a diverse, skilled workforce from other countries, but that perspective usually trickles down rather slowly. So changes, that would be beneficial to a large majority of people, won't be implemented because propaganda works. That happens a lot in other western countries, but nowhere so succsessfull as in the US. For the Microwave vs. kettle thing: For small amounts the microwave is more efficient than the kettle. That changes with volume. And the heating is more uneven for the mw. And it's not impossible to super heat the water which may cause problems when it begins to rapidly boil in a small cup in your hands. But that shouldn't really happen. But for large volumes there is nothing that beats a kettle in efficiency or speed. Disclaimer: This is a generalisation, of cause.
