@@Kruzadar If you truly want some, I'd recommend it, provided you're in a good position to provide their needs (they're a commitment), and to handle their noise. They are loud little guys. But they're great company, self-cleaning (just add water), and their eggs are larger and, in my opinion, tastier than any chicken's.

Kruz when you were talking about the like, low constant noise you hear when there's nothing else going on, I'm pretty sure that's just the idle noise of like, cars going down roads and wind and stuff like that. Cus there are rooms out there specifically built to be completely silent, and the most silent room in the world is so quiet that you can start to hear your own internal bodily processes. Not sure what deaf people "hear", or anything like that, but what you described was definitely still actual sound. The world's a lot noisier than we think it is.

I think she's thinking of toasting one side, flipping on the pan and putting the cheese on and then topping it off with the other bread with the toasted side on the inside so then you can toast the outside of the bread while simultaneously using the heat transfer to get the cheese nice and melty.

I worked as a sound tech for a bit. White noise is supposed to help you concentrate and has an equal distribution across audible frequencies. Many use it to block out unpredictable noises, so it may help drown out the hustle and bustle of daily life or mask the sounds your roommate might make or something pink noise is just a pleasant noise that many people use to fall asleep, and it has more power on the lower frequencies. It has other potential nonsense uses as well, no guarantees, but some say it helps with tinnitus. Brown noise can also be called red noise and it is lower in tone and intensity than the other two. Many people use these in waiting rooms or even offices to drown out some of the activity. Green noise is just nonsense, people made it up and it means whatever you want it to mean. Blue/purple noise are used by audio engineers for something called dithering and it is added to recordings to smooth out the gaps between sounds. Listening to them alone is not soothing at all.

I was briefly rendered deaf for a couple months last year...It's probably not the same as being born deaf, or becoming permanently deaf, because... Well... It was temporary, for one thing. And also, I could still hear - at a reduced capacity (compared to normal hearing) - if I used bone-conductive headphones, but... I *kinda* heard what you were calling "brown noise". The sound was actually the sound of my blood being pushed through veins/arteries in my body/head. Which is cool, but also drove me NUTS. It's a special kind of hell to be legitimately irritated at being able to hear your blood pumping.
