The writers on Gumball are thee best! They know adult humor, dirty jokes, kid humor & teen humor & fuse them all in almost every episode. Its definitely worthy of dozens of awards & at least 30 seasons or as many as the writers can keep thinking of. Compare it to Adventure Time or Flapjack & its a landslide blow out victory for Gumball.

I agree maybe on a comedy basis but Adventure Time is a lot more mature and fable like in its story telling. Most stories have an identifiable and mature learning point within such as the Hall of Egress episode which is about dealing with things outside of our control, when Finn accepts he can’t just force his way through the Hall (or life) he realizes all he can do is go with the flow and he finally gets through. There’s no such thing reallly evident in Gumball - additionally the entire cartoon seasons actually follow a somewhat linear and cohesive narrative with characters having meaningful arcs and being well fleshed out. Gumball is the show for self contained, funny gags and episodes but it’s no where near as well written or deep as Adventure time.
