3:07 for Nikki and Maddie wondering why was her car farting, its because gasoline makes a vapor and that vapor needs to get out, there is a pipe called the Evap pipe that allows that vapor to get out. For her that pipe is blocked and the high pressure is causing the gases to escape from the gas filler neck, causing the farting noise

A farting gas tank: 2:33 Your fuel canister purge valve has failed...most likely because you've been topping off your gas tank. If you have that valve replaced you can improve the life of the valve by filling the tank until the gas pump stops and then NOT topping it off after that. Topping the tank can cause raw fuel to be sucked into the vacuum canister which starts the chain reaction resulting in the valve failure. And I guess she drives a Ford as well, it’s a common fault on those models.

The farting gas tank: it's a build up of negative air pressure usually caused by a faulty purge solenoid (and usually for newer vehicles).... WTF do I know shite like this? Congrats on 50! Hope to see more in the future!

Hi, At 2:48. It's not a problem or a blocked vent or anything, the fuel tank is designed to hold a bit of pressure (generated by engine heat) to help fuel pick up and anti evaporation within the lines on hot start. It often gets set off when you slam the door as you get out after a hot drive. Thank you Google for the answer.

The car farts cuz the pistons keep turning a little after the car is turned off which will pull fuel that isn't being combusted causing a vacuum in the tank. It's less of a fart and more of a sucking noise.

it is one of the newer ones that has a rubber stopper to try and reduce loss of gas through evaporation and so she has the cap off and it is probably a really hot day = more pressure from high evaporation rate and the presure inside the tank from these conditions is higher than the treashold of what pressure the rubber stopper can stop so it leaks out but when some leaks out it reduces the pressure untill the evaporation once again builds pressure so that is why it is "farting"

Well seems like she filled the tank and left it in the sun. Some cars have a hose that drain extra fuel, which is sometimes unsafe, while others have a prv (pressure release valve).

The reason why her gas tank was farting was because the rubber around the gas cap was was dry and not airtight so the fumes were escaping making the rubber bounce around making the farting noise

So... I'm little late seeing this video. About the "farming gas tank ". That is a vented filler spout. Gas evaporates and puts off fumes, being vented helps prevent vapor lock.

the car was farting because she didn't have a gas cap. gas builds up pressure as it's sloshed around and the pressure leaves through the valve in the tank entrance. she could prevent this from happening by putting a new gas cap on it.
