best channel for macebells and steel clubs on youtube BY FAR. no waffle. Straight to the point. And very clear instructions question: how much am I supposed to be using my shoulder and hips etc to add power to the moves? it feels really natural to add a little push like that. like how you turn your hips before you swing a bat or a golf club or something. but I don't know if it's correct protocol with macebells and steel clubs. should I be bracing my core as much as possible and trying to stand straight instead? kind of fight against the momentum, instead of adding to it with my body? or are both ok, but have different benefits?

Thank for watching and for your kind words. You can pivot your feet and hips when swinging lighter clubs. But, when you go heavy I find it best to charge my weight in the opposite direction so I own the centreline and don't get pulled off balance when the club is off to the side. Only brace the core when you need to which is usually when the club is at its heaviest, normally at the bottom of a swing or when you cast or decelerate the club.

I agree, when I paid attention to the elbow circle, things got so so much better. Excellent video!

Great video but for me it is impossible to follow. How the heck to do the cast immediately after the circle?! I tried it so many times and feels so clumsy, balance going so off

Hi, This video breaks the mill down into much more detail, I go into the specific mechanics of the exercise... kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJK8m6RprrGHhbMfeature=shared

Could you do this with a sledgehammer?
@dangerouslyfit8 ай бұрын
Technically yes, but it wouldn't swing as smooth as a sphere shaped mace. If you do use a sledgehammer make sure you use a fitness hammer that is cast as one piece.

If someone brings one of these to a gym they're definitelytrying to show off. Keep that for a home workout.
