Wode Maya, I have a constructive criticism and a compliment for you if you ever get to read this. Criticism: A few times in the videos you were seen making fun of the the food, utensils etc at the cost of the man serving you, the girl (which I assume is from Uganda), the country and culture accommodating you. Instead, you could have appreciative of the creativity seen. E.g. The "firing pan", Instead of laughing at the face of the cook, you have been appreciative and could have positively presented the creatively made wood burner oven made to sustain heavy duty and continuous cooking. Another instance, The "Calendar", you tried to be funny, but that was at the cost of the very man next to you, just one look at his face says it all. Instead of causing an embarrassment like that, you could have just made fun of at how we Africans never throw away things, you could have emphasized our recycling/reusing skills. Have you seen videos by Mark Weins? He is a master is travelling the world for food, and his favourites are street foods, and he makes each one look as though they were made in a gourmet kitchen by a world class chef all by structuring content to convey a positive and appealing outlook. Compliment: You are among few who travel around our great land of Africa to promote it, and you are doing so well. Thank you for all thay you do. Just know that it is a big responsibility as you are conveying the very essence of Africa to the world. You in a sense are the brand ambassador of Africa every time you make those videos. Akon said on a meeting that Africa should present a better brand of itself to the world because USA got there mainly by doing just that, and I know you are doing that. However, please try and pay attention to what is conveyed at the end of the day. i.e. What people get out of watching your videos.
@zugzwangsavant68645 жыл бұрын
That's your other chef...this is Wade Maya you don't expect everyone to act like that chef...a little jokes here and there have killed nobody
@mikias5 жыл бұрын
@@zugzwangsavant6864 I get you. My concern is that he unwillingly painted a poor image of Uganda for me. I am an Ethiopian. Imagine he is selling his experience of "street food in Uganda" because at the end of the day, his video is all about the street food in Uganda right? So, Why paint it as something minuscule and degraded while he could have shown its true colors which is delicious, fun, creative, tasty, convenient and cost effective. These are why street food exists anywhere in the world. Those were the elements that should have structured his content instead of how ridiculous the pan was, or how long it will take, or the packaging...you get me?
