Few clouds, consists of primarily oxygen and nitrogen. This is where the ozone layer is. 3. Mesosphere, extends to around 85 km above ground. This is where most meteorites tend to burn up. Temperatures can be as low as -85 degrees Celcius, to the point where even a scarce amount of water vapor can turn into clouds almost instantaneously, a sort of sublimation in which a solid can immediately turn into a gas, or the other way around. 4. Thermosphere Extends to around 600 km above ground. You'd expect that things get colder the higher you go, right? Wrong. Temperatures here can soar up to 2000 degrees Celcius. 5.
