Support the channel and buy my ultimate Desi Delhi food guide here: maxmcfarlin.gumroad.com/l/24h... 🇮🇳 Welcome back to north Delhi! After enjoying a rather heavy breakfast of chole bhature with my rickshaw driver, in the last video I was off in search of a drink to quench my thirst. I wandered back to the stall that sold us the chole bhature and asked if there were any drink stalls nearby. Although I wasn't really looking to drink a heavy lassi, I asked for a lassi shop and the man selling told me they had lassi there. I had to oblige.
The lassi was really good and big for 80 INR (~$0.98 USD). It was a Punjabi style lassi with nice curds from the milk on top.
After finishing my lassi it happened to be the time school was starting in the morning I suppose. At that time, I was looking at my phone for directions to another food, when some Indian middle school students came over to ask for the time. I had seen them eyeing my phone for some reason, and they came over to chat and then asked to see my phone. I politely declined, although I don't think there was any ill-intent. I think they were just curious what a new iPhone looked like.
After chatting it was time for another delicious Indian snack. It just so happens that just a few hundred meters down the road from the chole bhature place is a famous small snack stall selling aloo (potato) kachori called Sharma Kachori Wala.
Right as I started walking in the direction of the stall, I could immediately tell which one it was. It was surrounded by people eating. It was so crowded in fact that I thought there was a line, but the friendly locals confirmed to me it was just a walk up and grab.
One plate of aloo kachori comes with an aloo mixture, and 5 pieces of kachori, which is a crunchy fried snack, all for only 35 INR (~$0.43 USD). After figuring out how to film with one hand due to no seating, I gave it a try. The aloo mixture was much spicier than I was expecting, but it was absolutely delicious. The flaky, crunchy kachori was an incredible combination, although I found it difficult to scoop up the aloo mixture with such a crunchy, non-malleable tool. I think I did okay though for my first time.
After finishing my aloo kachori, I was really full from all the food and drinks, so I decided to walk around a bit more and try to build up an appetite. Unfortunately I didn't really get hungry, but instead got extremely thirsty. I stumbled upon a mall-area with places selling lots of clothes, and there happened to be a drink places selling drinks. I decided to try a drink called Nimbu Lemon, which is basically a spiced lemonade with various types of masala in it. It was really good and the mother-son owner duo were very nice. One cup was 30 INR (~$0.37 USD).
Hope you enjoy.

I didn't consider that the videos would be blatantly boring sometimes, but it has crossed my mind a few times if it is mainly about trying food and how long that can maintain an interest. But I have watched 20 or 30 videos already and it's only been 2 days or so. I thought I was only going to watch one. (Wrong.) At almost every place he goes to, there are people who are curious to know more about him and then they become a little fixated on his Hindi and how fair-skinned he is and wonder what his background is. Not 100% of the encounters but many of them make for interesting discoveries about the people and bring out emotions in the viewer. All of that in spite of focusing primarily on food at the moment.
