Bawarchi at Cross road(opp.vazir sultan factory road) is the ultimate. Hyderabadi Biryani with mutton is the best.(genuine Biryani lover will only have mutton Biryani) nothing else. Irani pulao sold as Hyderabadi Biryani. But the best is Lagun(vessel for cooking Hyderabadi Biryani on charcoal fire). That's the best. Marvellous !! Yummy!!

Some hotels in hyderabad like Shahdab and Grand work in a different way If you eat at the ground floor the taste of biriyani will be felt different than compared to biryani being served at 1st floor i.e (Family or A/C section ) The biriyani at ground floor will be a little bit spicy and the one being served at 1st floor or A/C section will have a bit soothing and aromatic taste to it. This is a very important thing to remember if you are eating in Hyderabad. Please try it and let me know in the comments .

Speaking as a hyderabadi, biryani used to be a delicacy once upon a time. We used to eat it from bawarchi, niagara, nayab, shadab once a week at max. Today, biryani is available on every street even at curries point and it lost its charm. And also due to rising prices of basmati, mutton many old places have resorted to cheaper quality ingredients to maintain price. So, you’d be better off eating at biryaniwallah, peshawar, shah ghouse to an extent & 4 seasons

Only shadab is somewhat edible and Sarvi. But that's just barely somewhat. One day 4 years back I got great biryani in Sarvi at 12 in the night, parcel bottom of degh, I ate it at 2am at home. I would have rushed back to get the whole degh unfortunately they close around 12 in night and I was flying out by the 6:30 am flight. I returned 3 months later and immediately went there for late lunch. Unfortunately they were back to same crap. I asked the owner brother ( youngest one) sitting at their chai outlet. Why that day I got original taste. He jumped out and took me aside and told me not to talk about it. He said big argument is going on in the family on this issue.he told me his elder brother is around he will speak on it some other day when no one else is around. Basically I guessed they want to cater to 90% of their customers who are not Hyderabadi Muslims. They are very loud about what they want out of their biryani mostly because their palate is different and they have no clue what biryani is and they have an closed ecochamber on what a biryani should be. I hate that they have taken our favourite dish and screwed it.

Personally I like Pista House’s Zafrani Biryani, followed by the ones shown in the video, next time you should check out Pista House as well, also try apricot delight at pista house and Mandi, Khabsa, Baklava & Kunafa (some popular items that are equally loved specially since a few years) PS - Gattu eating biryani with hands looked like a foreigner eating rice with hands, he was pouring rice from above into the mouth, could be since a lot of people from North eat rice with spoons, just an observation nothing against him)

I have tried most biryani in Hyderabad but THE BEST BIRYANI WAS IN "SODA BOTTEL OPENER WALLA" and just next to it is Karachi Bakery's 45th Avenue...these two places was the epitome of Hyderabad. Mind it both are expensive places but the taste is worth every penny.
