Haikyu has a perfect length.. It ends perfectly.. And you will be glad that it has 45 volumes.. I wish there were more.. There are so many character arcs and the matches are so intense. Every match is so geniusly planned. The level of volleyball increases in every subsequent arc... So it just gets more and more exciting. Its the most satisfying story ever.. I hope you have the same experience!! ❤️ P. S. Haikyu! is shonen

So Kohaku is actually androgynous/genderless. That was a translation error afaik, bc in the manga Kohaku tells Shuichiro they're not a man or woman! Just wanted to add, the newer translations by Dark Horse accurately refer to all angels in Wish by "they"!

I'm currently reading both The Promised Neverland (started it because I heard season 2 of the anime is trash cuz they didn't follow the manga) and Attack On Titan (been watching the anime since 2017 and omg it's just so good that I wanted to experience the story again in the manga) it's full of plot twists and foreshadowing and the animation is absolutely amazing especially in action sequences but the best thing about it is the characters, they're so well written.

Haikyuu is amazing. I polished off the whole series and, honestly, I want even more volumes. It may not seem like it but it actually has a lot to say, and not only about volleyball. (The anime is terrific.) Demon Slayer is a personal favourite, but the anime is better. It's like, in the animation, the story has more time to breathe and the emotional bits hit much harder as a consequence. Lol I reacted the same way you did when I read the first volume of Jujutsu Kaisen. I dnfed the series on the spot and did not read more. But the anime was great.

Good to know the 45 volumes of haikyu are worth it 😂

I think you’re making a good choice in going with the demon slayer anime. A lot of the later fight scenes in the series get a little muddy on the page but they are animated absolutely beautifully on the screen. I read the whole series and loved it but the anime is so much better.

Loved this! Spy family was on my wishlist already but I'll be adding Promised Neverland too. I like jujutsu kaisen, so I'd recommend you check out the anime (only 1 season out so far based on the first like 7 volumes or something and a prequel movie based on volume 0). The animation for the Demon Slayer anime is sooo good!

You are right reading the Wotakoi was so messy...it was the same for me too but the anime version of it was smooth due to the explanatory scenes, which becomes confusing when reading the manga and spoils the fun but the anime was so good, will make you laugh hard.

*screams in weeb* I’m so happy you loved the first volume of Haikyu! I just finished the series earlier this month and I loved every second of it! I’m super excited to pick up Spy Family and I’ve been reading MHA as well! (Love our unplanned buddy reads) I tried the anime of demon slayer and jujutsu Kaisen and got bored with both but I’m excited to hear your thoughts if you ever choose to continue them (by manga or anime)

I loved this video😍 So for Jujutsu Kaisen and Wotakoi I only watched the anime so far. As you mentioned for wotakoi the first volume/omnibus is a mess and I heard that it'll reaolve later, I read few chapters that aren't in the anime anymore and it was fine. The anime is really enjoyable and I would say steucturewise it is supposed to be chapterwise like komi often is. But the couple isn't queer as far as I know, it's simply that the one person gets often mistaken for a boy but is a girl. For jujutsu kaisen also was confused at first and I also still compare gojo and kakashi. Tho I never saw sukuna as the ninetailed fox that was interesting. I own the first 5 volumes of jujutsu kaisen so if I remember this comment after reading them (I am motivated now xD) I might update the comment. I'm excited for you to keep up Hanako for a while and as far as I know it'll get darker with time and the story picks up.

Yes, from what I have heard, JJK is kinda similar to Naruto. Ai haven’t watched Naruto though. However, I think I read somewhere that Akutami was at least partially inspired by Naruto (and some other manga, like Hunter x Hunter), but he hated the relationship between Naruto and… I don’t know… his demon or something? So it parallels that kinda. Lmao wait for his training sequence in one of the later volumes, it is… not what I expected from a training arc/ montage.

Definitely try the Demon Slayer anime! The animation is beautiful in my opinion. Season 2 is being released or has been released; I am not sure I only watched the first few episodes of season 2. Just have not been watching anything.

@@murakamireads Just simply a coming of age story but a lot darker. Also could be the epitome of don't judge a book by it's cover. It's pretty well regarded in the community being the 8th highest rated manga ever on MAL with a 9.05 score. I will also say this is definetly a heavy Manga (probably the MOST heavy manga there is, idk maybe berserk is darker) it is very dark, and goes quite heavy with the trauma and consequences of trauma.

Unfortunate that you didn't like Wotakoi. It was originally published on Pixiv before being serialized so that might explain some of the disjointedness for the narrative? I can't tell if you'll have a better time with the sequels since I don't really understand your confusion with the first one (I also watched the anime first and that reorganizes things a bit). Also there definitely isn't any queer relationships in the book and Fujita does get borderline homophobic at points (mostly through commentary on Yaoi). Overall, I think the volumes improve in some ways but probably won't be your thing, especially as the timeline remains vague throughout the series. I think it's funny that you don't like JJK because it feels like a Naruto ripoff since I can't stand Naruto but I love JJK lol. He was definitely influenced by Naruto's artstyle though and there's probably more that I just wouldn't pick up on
