Does it track objects? For photographing planets?
@MiiBooth
@MiiBooth Жыл бұрын
I noticed it tracks actively when photographing nebulas and galaxies coz I took 50 pictures of one galaxy over a span of 10 min or so and in the end result all the stars in the pictures were fully aligned. But it doesn’t actively track planets and moon. Ot simply points and stops there

Can you make any comment for all contributors who are worried for their money after their early bid on kickstarter ? No update since December 26, website down, no answers to bidders questions.. looks like a scam, smells like a scam... well, obviously, it's a scam.

I´m a backer and the Telescope was suppoused to be sent on 15th of August, do you have any contact with Mirrosky Team? It looks like a scam project and they can make you part of it...

I did contact them beginning of this year and also another youtuber who reviewed it. They said they were having some delays but they are still active and backers have nothing to worry. Haven’t contacted them after that.

Can this telescope also track the sun, so that it can used to observe solar eclipses and also for sun spots and solar flares?
@atanuray11
@atanuray11 Жыл бұрын
You will need a solar filter to observe the Sun. A word of caution: Never try to observe the Sun with any telescope without a proper filter.
@SamAgro2024
@SamAgro2024 Жыл бұрын
@@atanuray11 I dont believe it has the tracking capability. The video does not show any tracking. And the developer's website does not provide any info about tracking. In fact in this video, the saturn, moon, jupiter all are drifting and then had to be re-centered. Not having a tracking feature makes this telescope useless.

Believe me I want it more than anyone but I needed some helps with configuring the camera for the best possible shots but somehow the manufacturer is not responding. Im trying to figure it on my own or completely ditch the camera module and use my own mirrorless with an adaptor.

"high quality lenses...." hmmmm - I hope you are aware that SCT telescopes have no lenses but mirrors???? And no, the scope has not a 127mm focal range but 200mm . the 127mm equals 5 inches which is the diameter of the SCT scope. Also, the camera is with 2um pixel size totally oversampled - no decent astrocam has these specs - these chips are only used in surveillance cams and are dead cheap. And last but not least, they state that the scope and do tracking, but in your video there is no tracking at all and the planets are wandering over your screen.... This "review" makes no sense at all...... If this should have been marketing for this scope, it did the opposite
@Medievalking1

Still, SCT telescopes have a corrector lens, but with the rest I agree
@russtynail55
@russtynail55 Жыл бұрын
Hmm, you're criticizing the reviewer for some mistakes in his review, but you then make a major blunder in your first paragraph. The telescope in the review is not an SCT, (Schmidt Cassegrain telescope) as you claim. It is a Maksutov Cassegrain telescope. And contrary to your claim both Schmidt Cassegrain and Maksutov Cassegrain telescopes do utilise a refractive lens, they are compound telescopes, otherwise known as catadioptric telescopes. The corrector plate of the SCT and the meniscus lens of the Maksutov both refract the light rays entering the telescope. Also, the 50mm guide scope which is also used for imaging with the camera is a refractor. The ability to switch the imaging camera between the guide 'scope and the main 'scope to take advantage of the different focal lengths, wide field astrophotography in the short focal length refractor guide 'scope and planetary imaging with the 1900mm main scope is clearly mentioned by the reviewer. The confusion with focal lengths and aperture on the part of the reviewer is a valid criticism that should have been corrected before publishing the review, but a read through of the specifications on Mirrosky's website is quite clear and taken together then the errors made by the reviewer do not significantly detract from the review of a new entrant to the growing range of computer driven 'smart' goto telescopes. Your criticism of the review is hardly worthy of the time you took to write it.

@@russtynail55 OK, you have a point there, I mixed that up. Neithertheless, to state anything of "high quality lenses" is absurd with a scope that is that cheap. And when he states that he never had anything better, I wonder if his last telescope was from the toy store. And why does the guy already have the scope which is still in the backing phase of kickstarter? Why did the tracking not work which they say it has? The camera is dead cheap, made for security cameras and will lead to HUGE oversampling and makes it impossible to look at any nebulas - except with the finder scope, which will lead to massive fringing. So sorry, I see this scope as a nice gift for children to do some planetary observations, but that is it.....

@@viewintospace Seriously what is your point? They are trying to market this towards parents and their children. Also a market for new people who may want something that is more on the automated side. You are obviously not the market for this by the way you talk. Just because they are not using top of the line stuff that doesn't mean it's bad. It's not like they are trying to sell this for over $1200. For the pricepoint it is fine for what they are offering. Lose the ego champ. At the end of the day it is going to come down to the software and making sure that is easy to use and works out of the box. Their second live stream over this past weekend has me worried and I even questioned them on that video why they would even do a live stream without making sure stuff worked. I told them to take the video down since it was not a good look for their product. They went ahead and posted it to their Kickstarter page which to me is even worse. Granted this is not supposed to come out for a few more months so hopefully all those issues are worked out.

@@PowerNGlory My point is that such "reviews" are highly misleading and give parents or beginners the impression, they would buy something fantastic. They can not judge based on the data provided what they really buy - I can. I recently saw the MC scope this is based on on sale for USD 440. Given the camera they use is absolute trash it all comes down to the software, which use have to admit is not ready yet and no one know if they can accomplish it. And if the software is not stellar, a beginner or parents should rather buy a dobsonian with their budget - they get much more for their money.
