With one successful Amazon gadget in my history, I figured I'd give this overnight heatless hair curling gadget a go. Since it's gone viral and seems to have really good reviews, I figured I'd try it for myself and see if we could find an easy no heat hair curler alternative to my beloved Dyson Airwrap. Will it work as per the viral content and worth the money, or will it fail expectation? Let's find out together!

Saw a tweet recently that was like "How the back of my hair looks is none of my business" and I've been living by that ever since.

As a naturally curly girl, I admire all the effort yall go through to curl your hair... And fully relate bc straightening mine is a multi-hour nightmare, lol.

Hahahaha oh no 😭😭😭 I feel like we all enjoy trying different things compared to what we have already 😅 To be fair mine isn't really straight, it's uh... bleached-coloured-wonky-wavy... I just prefer a more yassified curl 🥸💕😅

I love this technique when I don't feel like doing my hair and want texture for the next days, sometimes you need to touch up a bit but its pretty good for a heatless method. You can always put your hair in space buns too for more volume at top and softer waves, know sometimes they can leave marks depending on the strength of the elastic.

Oooh such good tips ty ty!! Hopefully I can get the hang of it, I really liked it on day two when it was a lil softer hehe 🥸🎀💕

about a year ago I totally stopped using heat tools and instead I'm using a dress gown cord and scrunchies to secure (but I should invest in one of these lol). Instead of wrapping the hair over in one direction, I take the front sections back and the back sections forward (idk if that makes much sense) and add in hair to each as I do - I do it when my hair is slightly damp and if I add a mousse it literally lasts almost a week. Wrapping in the different directions just gives more dimension and a more natural-looking curl, it wears super well throughout the week too. I leave out my short front pieces and put those in a roller like you said! ps if you zig zag the parting in the back it also looks more natural and blends better!

I second this! Try wrapping the back and front in different directions! Abbey Yung has a video about how to do that wrapping method on her channel!

I have the U.S. version (looks same) and I found that it keeps my hair more smooth and contained (aka not frizzy). Looking forward to vlogs on travel. I have not been to Japan in years and have never been to Korea. Besides showing the exquisite scenery and shrines, two words: snacks and fashion.😉

if you love using the barrel brush on the airwrap when you get to japan hit up whatever tech store you see first and buy a blow dry barrel brush, I got my first one at either a donki or bic/yodobashi camera for 2300 yen and I use it everytime I go over, and I also have lent it to a few friends who have gone to visit (its plastic and small so super light for the suitcase) ik it seems extra as hell, but its worth it, I just borrowed my sisters american straightener for my vacay to hawaii, start your own sisterhood of the travelling blow dry brush! ✨ and of course enjoy your trip bb 💖

The world has become so fancy. When I was younger and had long hair I'd just braid my hair into thousands braids. And then have the awkward tip not curly 😂 This one does look more comfy than that noodle thing too 😊

Someone else I watch, @AbbeyYung, has used a similar product and she would alternate between wrapping a piece back and the next piece forward and gets voluminous curls that aren't all I one direction.

with heatless curls i would say useing on wet hair helps. i have done a course in hair and makeup. wet hair with this stuff is better. when I wanted my hair to curly I would braid it wet leave it and take it out

I actually used the belt of my robe and it worked just as well... didn't last as long but I also have annoyingly "fine scandinavian hair" as the hairdressers put it, so nothing ever lasts long in my hair :) But it did work - I would assume the actual headband would be a lot more comfortable to sleep on though than a belt

I have a lot thicker hair, and can't afford much, but I use 3 bathrobe ties (yes I own 3, all for different moods) plait them and the wrap your hair around it.

Lucy, this is exactly the same as the pool noodle curl device. I have the noodle and what you’ve done is exactly how I use it, and it is relatively easy to sleep on. To be fair, I’m still at the start of the video. Maybe things go off in a direction I’m not expecting…

So I absolutely love my squishy pool noodle lol. I was mainly after increased volume because my hair is long, thick, and fine, but goes flat easily. There was a bit of an adjustment period but it was WAY less struggle than using a curling iron (or wand, or straightener, or any of the twelve other heat tools I have bought and failed to properly learn to use as part of My Struggle to Survive Because I'm Too Dumb To Be Alive). 10/10 would recommend if you are tired of braiding your hair lol.

Are you coming up to Hokkaido during your Japan trip? /No one comes up here. Also I have naturally curly hair, and people here in Japan always ask me if it's a perm. So you can measure how successfully you curled your hair by if Japanese people ask if it's a perm. Haha.
