The kits I found at walmart say to slightly cut the boba bag open and then microwave that alone for 20 seconds. That way the balls get their chewy texture back properly. And if you want ice cold, my tip is to heat up about a tablespoon or two of water and add the powder in. That way the clumps go away and stuff and then you can just add cold water or milk and ice. 😊🙏hope this helps anyone also trying the kits.

I have a very similar instant boba kit, you mix hot water with the powder and then add milk and ice in a pot you place the packet of Boba and boil for a while(I can't remember how long) take the package out and pour it into the tea, it's nice the tea is nice and as long as you boil the Boba long enough they have a pleasant texture if you don't boil then long enough they are very hard

For those wanting instant gratification(like me) and have an H mart near them, they have them! Brown sugar and other flavors in a pack of 4 of 8. I’ve only tried the brow sugar and taro one but they are good! For at home boba I’d give them a 6 or 7 /10 and only a 6-7/10 is bc the packs are what I would say is a boba shop size small! But other than that taste is a 10/10

Okay so here's how I make my boba. I've never actually been to a bubble tea shop, I've only made it at home! I buy plain raw black tapioca pearls. I boil 1/2 cup boba in 1 1/2c water with 1-2tbsp brown sugar. I eat a boba to check if the chew is right before I take it off the heat. In this pot, I steep enough black tea for 24oz tea, usually 3tsp. I like to use flavored teas. I steep for 3 minutes and remove the tea. I add a 12oz can of evaporated milk to the pot, and I'm done. Boba for 2-3 people... Or just me and my 24oz boba tumbler. It takes about 10 minutes and it's way better than the single-serve packets from the grocery store. You can serve it warm or chill it first. I buy my tea from Adagio and my favorites for boba are chocolate chai with regular evaporated milk and Thai tea (not the Thai chai) with evaporated coconut milk. Don't do hazelnut. I love their hazelnut tea, but it doesn't work in boba. Oh, and you can find reusable boba straws with little brushes for washing up! Even my boba tumbler came with a cleaning brush!

I've tried a few different instant boba kits. So far, the brands where you have to microwave the boba in it's little vacuum sealed package first are the best (just tear off the corner to vent). I also found I usually have to microwave it for a really short amount of time, like 15 seconds tops. Maybe try that!

My recommendation is the 3:14 brand brown sugar kits, you heat up the boba pearls separately and they retain a better consistency, although you do need to add a sweetener to the tea if you like your drink sweeter as the pearls are the sweetened bit

We have a similar type of thing you can buy in new zealand. Its got like 5 different flavours you can buy. Has the boba pearls, the actual flavour of the drink, but it doesnt come with straws which i think is good cause thats just more plastic for people to throw away. Buy a reusable boba straw! I havent tried boba tea before - i have no idea what one to get or how to even order it.

I’ve had this kit but the taro version. The first time I made it the bobas weren’t right. The second time I did something different but I don’t exactly remember what.
