Yes, I can understand the annoyance over the waste! I am a “Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without” kind of person. But the beads are fabulous looking! I don’t mind wind at all if it’s a warm wind but I don’t like a cold wind! I’m shivering just thinking about it!! So glad to hear your voice today and spend a little time with you, hugs!!

Thanks for the bead sealing tip. I think I'd be unhappy with the waste too though. I'm only making a few (100 or so) beads so I will just varnish as required. Back in the day when I used to teach, we always used to say that the wind affected the kids. They would be hyper and restless all day. I can see that it might affect you too being so young at heart. Nice of you to try new things FOR US, so we know ahead. I may try this this spring or summer. I know Melissa Bishop’s daughter-in-law uses embossing powders to coat her beads, but she also puts the metal centers, etc. Real professional like, as she sells them. I like the idea I can make them without 5e extras. I like beading as in making dangles, so I should make some. Add it to the list! lol. TFS!

Thank you Janice. Have fun if you make some. Embossing powder does give a beautiful finish,almost like glass. I ended up using glossy accents on some of them and was pleased with the results. BettsyDoodle I’m not really. She has posted a few videos on FB. She’s starting her farm. Rescued a little donkey and named him Mr Charlie Sunshine, and to keep him company she’s gotten a couple of goats. Before the lockdowns there were plans for her son to come help build the all important chicken house or coop, but that won’t happen for a while. This week they are having flooding rains in her area, and hopefully she has no probs. Being on a mountainside she’s fairly safe, but has a stream with a road that traverses a bridge over it. So long as the bridge stays in tact, she’ll be ok. I don’t know how she does it all, but admire that she’s living her dream.

Have fun Dee. I bought some min wax wood hardener but haven't used it on my beads as of yet. Whatever way you do these they will end up lovely. Pretty beads!!!! Hugs always. It's pouring down rain here in SW Wa state. Good day to do some fun project. 💜👀💜

Your box and strings would work if you wanted to use a spray sealer. I’ve been using clear nail polish which takes a very long time. I’m thinking I’ll switch to mod podge.

Thanks for all your great experiments! They are so fun, are they not? 😁 I thought you were really on to something! I have a problem with my big unicorn bead. It got hard on outside, and ends of the bead where I applied sparkle Mod Podge, and now that its dry, its soft (I can squeeze it) in the mid section. I've got to figure out how to get more Mod Podge or varnish, into the middle without sealing off the middle hole. Such troubles, eh??? 🤣😂
