The one thing everyone forgot about THE DUCHESS, she was executed during The Great Depression. Her last meal was probably more meat than most people had in a week. So pretty high class. I remember my grandmother talking about her childhood family only having chicken once every two weeks during that time and they were lucky because they had a farm. Other people weren't always as fortunate.

Honestly I would love to see an episode of Death Row Meals where Everyone in the episode on Cast that day reviewing wears inmate jumpsuits and tries each other's "if it was my last meal"/ "death row" meals. And then guess who's meal it was. Or for there to be a episode where the Cast would try what the staff would consider their last meals and try to guess what staff member would eat what. I would love to see either of those ideas in an episode.

Karla Faye Tucker was sentenced, and executed in Texas. Fun fact, she actually repented for her crime. She was an addict and high at the time of the murders. She spent her time in prison learning about addiction, trying to help others, running bible studies, and even wrote a book about what she did. In the end, she went with peace, having believed, wholeheartedly, that she deserved her punishment.

True Story, and sad too, but I knew Kelly Gissendaner. I taught her kids way back when I was much younger. Her husband Doug was a sweet man. The last day before she was arrested she brought in her kids to the daycare where I worked at and her son started screaming at naptime, I want my daddy. I felt like something was off because she brought him in a dress and had painted his nails. She would later confess that she was going to take the kids on the run but later decided to have their grandmother come pick them up. We were told at the time not to say anything to the press. It made us very uncomfortable. I am also sad because Kelly comes from a small town in North Georgia, so many people were baffled that she did this. Still to this day, many people are on the fence about the murders.

If ya’ll keep doing “Rate Last Meals” (which imho I don’t think you should), you should just give the meal and have them rate it first, THEN tell who requested it and, if you must, what they did to “deserve” the deth (sic) penalty. Otherwise I think people rate how they feel about the prisoner and their crime instead of rating just the food.
