I love writing my zero drafts by hand. I prefer unlined paper, as it feels more freeing, so I usually just write on blank printer paper. For outline/ideas that come later, I have post-it notes where I jot those ideas down, typically organized by scene. Write on!

I use a Kaweco classic fountain pen as it flows much better than using a biro. I find writing by hand slows me right down as I have to carefully think about what I am going to write! I do make lots of mistakes and my worse fault is using the same word in the next sentence to either describe something or I just repeat myself which is annoying! After writing on lots of small bits of paper I write it again in long hand onto ruled paper. Anyway at this rate it will take me ten years to write an introduction to my book! Would be interested in Sylvia Plath's writing routine, though in the movie when she got writer's block she baked so many cakes she could have opened a cake shop! Great video thanks!

I'm looking into getting a fountain pen myself! Being able to change the ink colour seems like it'll be fun. Much better than having to buy a whole new pen each time, too. I have done a video where I followed Sylvia's routine (no cake baking involved, however) but I know her routine changed a lot at different stages of her life, so I might try it again from a different stage in her life. Thank you I love these videos! As someone who always does a first draft by hand I completely agree with you about the editing. However it does get me writing and worry less about how it reads also it helps me memorize names and lore. Yes my memory is that bad 😂 Interviewing an accomplished author and asking her about Stephen Kings, I assume, unrequested advice. Is absolutely unhinged and I feel would never happen if she was a man. It would be bad enough to ask about a criticism but advice it just centers the other author on what is your interview.

This was interesting. Makes me want to read one of her books. 3h in one go sounds fairly acceptable. Though I'm sure you were tired enough after that. If you could figure out Jrr tolkiens writing routine it would have been quite something to see.
