They cost like 10 bucks a piece, people say is good for cancer so maybe that is why they cost a few dollars and also they are not so common around as other fruits. To me it smells like rotting banana peels, however, once you take a bite or two, the smell becomes tolerable. I love the way it taste so am ok with the smell. I just didn't grow up with it. I'm sure if I had I would be ok with the smell since I'd be eating it a lot more. For me now, when I get it, it's a treat for me.

In Indonesia, there is a place like a restaurant, but they only sell durian. They guarantee if it is not sweet, you can change with the other. The place is Ucok Durian in Medan City, North Sumatra, Indonesia

I spent 6 months overseas in China and I didn't try the fruit at first. I had the durian pizza which was sort of like a gateway to other stuff (it didn't smell, it just tasted sweet). I then had the candy, fruit and cake.
