Last year I visited the Spam Museum in Austin, Minnesota. It's an interesting place! The people who work there are called Spambassadors. LOL Great video!

Yes, and they have all the flavors for sale there! I bought a 12-pack of the maple while there. The museum is free and definitely worth a visit.

Thats neat! My dad use to work for Hormel in the 70s. I live in southern Minnesota so everytime I drive through Austin you can definitely smell the odors of the Hormel plant lol my dad told me he use to get free meat to eat from Hormel as long as you eat it on your breaks. Unfortunately he told me he wasnt able to take any home.

Here in the Netherlands, we only have regular and low fat spam, unfortunately. My mother used to cut them into small cubes and put it in the pasta with tomato sauce. I loved that back then and still eat it in the pasta regularly 😋

"Apocalypse food" Spam was in our earthquake kit. Once a year, mom would make "Eggs Garage", where she would renew all the canned goods we were stocking for emergencies.

To me Spam always needs to either be fried or cooked in a casserole to bring out the great taste. I love a couple grilled pieces in a grilled cheese, or diced into a potato casserole and baked in an oven.

My mom loves the spam wrapped up with rice in seaweed and just plain ol' Spam. I'm too afraid to even test it out.. canned meat freaks me out.. but im more then happy to watch you try them out lol

Tocino is pronounced with a soft c, like toe-see-no (fluidly), and its just bacon, so I wonder if the spam is any different than the other bacon one.

Where I live (in Canada), grocery stores only stock regular, low-sodium, and reduced-fat types. Bacon and (surprisingly) Tocino flavours are available with some searching at smaller retailers.

It is basically a hotdog in a can. Spam is the correct meat to put on Hawaiian pizza. Back Bacon is Canadian Bacon that was used on the first Hawaiian pizza in Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada, in 1962. In the USA they use sandwich ham.

That breakfast musubi looks tasty. I lived in Hawaii for a few years [spam musubi is a popular snack there] but never developed the taste for nori, the dried seaweed sheets. Maybe i'll try it again someday.

The teriyaki and the tocino (pronounced like toh-see-no) are really popular among the Asians and Filipinos and are both the sweet ones, both similar tho. They are quite common to get where I am, and you can find them in Asian stores. If you’re interested in any, let me know!

Awesome video!! I'm not a huge fan of spam but i think it gets way too much hate. It's pretty good when fried up. Hawaii has a huge variety of flavors in stores - I remember seeing a macadamia nut flavored one when I visited

I love cubing it up and seasoning with taco seasoning and frying it. Then i make spam burritos. Cheese, refried beans, jalapeños and spam with taco sauce. Give it a try. Its really good!!

My neighbor left a can of sodium free spam on his porch so the birds could pick at it. Three of those birds ended up dying from the processed ingredients. There's way too much salt in those cans for birds.

Awesome vid! I’ve been wondering what would the other Spam flavours taste like. I just found the maple one and I’m excited to try it! Especially living in Maine- I love maple covered everything. 😂 Spam is a staple food in my culture we serve it as breakfast food; thinly sliced the spam, fry em until crispy then serve with over easy eggs and garlic fried rice- oooweee yum! Btw, “tocino” is pronounced tow-see-now.

Spam is actually pretty good. Try baking it in the oven with honey or brown sugar syrup like you would a ham. It’s good with pineapple, too.

I like the 25% less sodium, the maple,, jalapeno, bacon and teriyaki ones. The traditional one not so much, too salty for the subtle flavor. The other ones have the flavor to support that amount of salt.

It’s interesting, The “Tocino” Spam that you said smells sugary has 7 grams of carbs and the bacon Spam has only 1 grams of carbs.
