We are digging deeper into the Manila foodie scene and we met our friend Spanky who is quite known in the Manila foodie scene and some food bloggers at Sentro 1771 to try some of their signature dishes. Sinigang became one of our favourite dishes lately because it's simple, healthy and delicious. And oh boy, that Sinigang is AMAZING! What is one of your favourite Filipino dishes?

Oh i love the food in Sentro 1771 and its predecessor Chateau 1771 when it was in Malate. I suddenly miss my Filipino food fix!

Sentro 1771 is definitely on my list I love the fact that you guys are back on food reviews , Mike knows how to paint the taste with his words , poetic at times really and Nelly's straight up no holds barred reviews. You can dig deeper and Try the classic healthier dishes like : patola (Chinese okra) with miswa , chicken tinola , balatong ( mung beans) and my favorite sinigang mix with real tamarind and bamboo shoots

First off I want say how I love your Intro. Very uplifting and just beautiful cinematography wise. I want to thank you for showing and sharing to the world how beautiful the Philippines and how good/kind/loving etc. we Filipinos are. Yes Nelly, when we went to Fussen my brother ordered pork shank thinking it will be crispy on the outside but when it came its boiled, he was a bit disappointed but he ate the meat of it anyway with beer.

Yes Via Mareat Greenbelt is the nicest among all the branches. Try their crispy pata. My favorite is the lechon kawali. But for Returning Filipinos its most popular items are the bibingka and puro bumbong. Just a middle class one and old tradition.

Suddenly I had an urgency to comment when I heard Chateau 1771 located at Malate Manila. I have so many memories with that place. The food were so amazing, plus the iced cold smb and the popcorn. Me and my wife also dated in that placed during our college days. I didn't know that it's no longer exist. I hope we could check Sentro 1771 when I get back in the Philippines on December.

Please do the Big Binondo Food Wok. It showcases amazing food and you’d know a bunch of stuff about the area. Also there’s a tricycle tour in the city of Malabon with lots of cool food places and going around another city in the Metro. Do the Malabon thing before it rains because it floods there easily.

Yup, sinigang is one of my favorite Filipino food. BTW, try to visit Via Mare restaurant inside Landmark shopping mall (second floor) in Glorietta. Try their Bibingka and Puto Bumbong my favorite desserts. They also have a lots of Filipino dishes that I'm pretty sure you'll gonna love them. Filipino food is one of Andreww Zimmern (of Travel Channel) favorite food. Enjoy.

yep. corned beef sinigang is spot on. you could actually request their broth to be spicier. :) and i think its the better choice.
