Trying Gold Leaf for the first time on a Watercolor Painting

This was great and very helpful. There sure is a lot involved in gold leaf. But the best part was when you added the blue around the outside. I can’t believe how much better it looked after that!

I've heard that you can seal mediums using the fixative/seal but spraying perpendicular to the painting so it is a thinner layer with less chance of colour changes. So the painting is laid down and you spray over the top but not ONTO it. Have you heard of this?

The mess wasn’t too bad! Gold paint would work. It’s just not quite as sparkly.

Wow, looks amazing. On completely another topic though: you live in a rather dry climate, right? If I remember correctly 😅 I just saw someone using windsor and Newton watercolor medium to slow down the drying time of gouache. Have you ever tried it with watercolor? If you have or will give it a try, I'd love to watch your take on its use
