Please don't feel guilty, the priority is always having fun & creating memories with your Family than share with us some, yes the genuine one not because you'll need to meet up the expectation to post certain amount of videos everyday, you'll be exhausted, just Be Happy, Be Healthy, Be Safe! Try Chinese, Malay & Indian foods, and if you have a chance to go to Sabah & Sarawak, you'll have varieties of food to try! Loving the boys more & more, they are so ADORABLE!

Thank you so much for responding to this bit, I felt a little nervous sharing so honestly, there is such a hustle culture around KZbin that makes you feel like you cant say this. We do work very hard behind the scenes, I've edited late into the early hours of the morning many times so that we can genuinely prioritise time with our children in the day. We're so grateful for them and want to know we're doing everything we can to give them a happy love and adventure filled childhood. - Thank you so much for understanding and taking time to be so encouraging. Ooo and we would LOVE to come to Sabah & Sarawak if we get the chance!

Nice food selection with the RM9 challenge. Love the Chee Cheong Fun but need to mix the sauce and the cut rice noodle rolls together before eating them as the noodle itself is flavourless. If you can find nutmeg or nutmeg juice, give the fruit juice or preserves a try too. Nutmeg is an "icon" fruit of Penang and only grown here. Don't eat the fruit on its own because it's hard, sappy and bitter. It is available as dried or wet pickles or tidbits, syrup or freshly blended juice, and medicated rubbing oil. Quite hard to find freshly blended nutmeg juice as it requires a lot of work to prepare the hardy and quickly oxidised fruit, but worth a try. Taste is exquisite as it leaves a herby menthol taste in your mouth but nutmeg has nutritional health values and good for the stomach. Nutmeg in any form is a favourite bring-home by domestic and international visitors.

Putting a limit of a $2:00 budget is hilarious - and yes you can get food for under or about that mark. I was based in Butterworth and I have been all through Malaysia and Singapore and if I stuck to a budget (especially for seafood) I would never have tried some of Malaysia's and Singapore's best quality dishes. Your kids will only remember what you have fed them. What a pity they are not older as they would probably refuse the 6 to 8 Ringgit meals.

I really hope our kids never refuse perfectly good meals because they cost less, I think that would be a failing as a parent. - also, you've missed the point of the video (possibly through being too eager to be judgmental) it was a "$2 challenge " - we have done many videos over time ranging from hosted 5 star dining in Japan to yummy local $2 street food - we love our kids to stay open minded and try a wide range of experiences - perhaps one of the reasons they're not fussy.

It's jicama in the Pie-tee, not radish or potatoes. It's similar to turnip.

I do not agree with you. I spent 8 years in Penang. Would you eat rubbish just to win a challenge - I didn't think so.
@TheBackpackingFamily2 жыл бұрын
I guessed you were an expat. The food wasn't rubbish, you're being rude, the locals make great food here what ever your budget

I am not saying all Malaysian Food under 8 Ringgit
@linsayhenry9202 жыл бұрын
@@TheBackpackingFamily Like anywhere else, it is normally the cheaper meals that are of lower standard. I am not being rude I am just stating fact. I have eaten many meals below eight ringgit and loved most. The reason I mentioned the challenge was, you accepted the challenge not your children.

@@linsayhenry920 Calling this food rubbish seems pretty rude to me - I just don't how you can watch a video with such lovely locals serving food and call the food rubbish. I think part of the magic of Penang is that locals make amazing cheap food. - Our kids accepted the challenge at the beginning of the video 😆
