Everytime foreigners or orang luar datang makan at Nasi Cikgu, I reallllly hope they try Ikan Singgang! Sayur lemak is good but Ikan Singgang is also a Kelantanese dishes, simple yet flavourful. The coconut milk vegetables goes really well with ikan masin(dried fish) and sambal belacan/sambal kicap/budu...the perfect combination of food...you can try it next time

The concept of eating nasi ulam is very similar to korean style of eating “Ssam” of combination of flavours. Ulam (sambung nyawa etc) are like how korean use Salad and Perilla Leaf, and adding on ban chan (side dishes) sam jjang + kimchi with Bapp and protein (grilled beef etc) . Sunsang-nim was trying to tell you to eat it the right way by combining the nasi putih + ulam + budu and belacan for the ultimate combination. You have to give Nasi Ulam another go. Hwaiting!
