Trying New Makeup | Haus Labs Concealer, Kosas Eyeshadow Palette, Fenty Stick and More

I think sometimes people forget that not everyone wants exactly what they want. I wear makeup every single day but I only wear mattes like 99.9% of the time and so the Kosas palette (and the new Patrick Ta palette) was so exciting to me! I only like having like one or two shimmer shadows maximum in my palettes. I ordered both the Patrick Ta and Kosas palettes the day they released and I'm so excited about them!!

I completely agree with everything you said at the beginning about the neutral palette and PMG. I see the point and the reason behind the releases but it seems like a lot of people in the online makeup community have ‘what about me’ syndrome which has been talked about a lot recently

I am really loving the Haus Labs concealer. I got it during the Sephora presale, too. It’s thicker than I thought it would be but it blends out like a thinner concealer. It really does look like skin. And it lasted well on my oily skin and didn’t crease under my eyes. I might also pick up the shade they recommended for me for brightening. The silver lining for filming this on a “not my favorite” skin day is that it makes for a better concealer review! 🤗 When you said, “Sorry about the beeping outside” I laughed because I thought the beeping was coming from outside my own window. 😂

Couldn't agree more about the negative comments on Trendmood. I'd like to see people who don't want a palette either just keep scrolling, or say something constructive and offer a suggestion as to who might like the palette. As for PMG, her Mothership palettes are pretty neutral and pretty similar. I can see where a completionist could be annoyed by the similarities, but most people would likely only pick their favorite with the neutrals that work best for them. I can say that the only one that has tempted me at all is Mothership III.

i hear what you’re saying about the kosas palette, but it was just really out of nowhere that the brand would even launch an eyeshadow palette. it also looked pretty cheap for the price they are charging. i wasn’t expecting a multichrome bundle but something more like a cream or liquid formula. the whole release was just a bit off to me. i think you make a really good point about the basic palettes not being for the beauty community. i just can’t see a world where i would recommend a basic kosas palette that is pretty expensive, even for makeup newbies.

I don’t think it was out of left field since they redid their liquid eyeshadow a few months back. I think for their main Sephora clients it makes sense but for most people no.

So true about the kosas palette. Everyone needs to calm down! As for the pat mcgrath, the lack of variety is the issue. If pinks are what sells, they should have a BESTSELLING pinks palette. It’s reductive and wasteful to come out with the same color stories.

I just don’t see them as identical as others, like some said it looks identical to DR1 but DR is cool mauves not warm sunset vibes. I just don’t see the new palette as pink as most
