Funny thing: Mozart actually wrote this piece for a certain singer the he didn’t like. The singer would move her head up and down when she would sing really high or low so Mozart made her do this because she would bob her head up and down like a chicken just to reach the different vocal ranges and he found this funny. Mozart was cheeky lmao. 😭

@igetmessagesfromthestars7667 Жыл бұрын
I totally want to do operatic training except I have zero singing skill. I am a musical instrument person (flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, wanting to do some more guitar and piano), but I really want to try operatic. I have no natural singing voice but many people say that my regular talking voice is nice so I'd be good at singing.... do you think I should go for it?
@jrs8301 Жыл бұрын
@i get messages from the stars! you should definitely go for it! Singing uses a similar breathing technique to wind instruments (deep diaphragmatic breathing), so I think it will be easier for you to learn classical singing since you already have the basics. You shouldn't be too worried about your voice timbre/tone since a pleasant vocal timbre/tone is subjective. I believe everyone can sing, if they have the right training and technique, and have no physical condition that prevents them from singing.

Iv heard that being a opera singer is a whole thing, they spend years of there life perfecting there voices to be able to not only sing but with power, and some of not most are Abel to sing in different languages… such a cool thing
@juliasings613110 ай бұрын
Singing in different languages is absolutely true, except it's actually quite common. Disclaimer, I'm not an opera singer. I'm a high schooler who's been in voice lessons for the past five years and who is being taught by an opera singer, though. Most of the most popular operas aren't in English at all. The magic flute, which is the opera queen of the night is from, is in German. And singing in other languages isn't as difficult as you might expect. And I am speaking from personal experience. For solo/ensemble, which is the time of year I'm currently preparing for, it's common to sing art songs, which could be from operas, or could be individual songs written in an operatic style. For solo/ensemble, at least the level I'm at, you have to sing them. And, like opera, many aren't in English. My first one ever was called alma del core, which is an Italian song. Last year I did the little horses, which is in English. And this year I'm back to Italian again with danza danza fancuilla. German and French are a couple other common languages to sing in (like I said, queen of the night is German) Each language has a slightly different set of sounds, but vowel sounds are the most important part of singing, and vowel sounds stay largely unchanged. Beyond that, it's just learning the different ways consonants sound, but again, most of those are the same. And those that aren't are usually easy enough to learn. And there are translations out there to understand what's happening if the song is in a language you don't speak. It's maybe slightly more work than an English song, but it's really not that different That said, opera singers are absolutely insane. They can do insane things with their voices because, yes, they do spend years perfecting it. That's not to say, though, that people from other genres of music don't spend years on their voice. There are different styles. A musical theater singer is not a pop singer is not an opera singer. Once you know one it can be easier to go between them, but being trained in one doesn't mean you can do another. They have different demands, and all can be very difficult. I love musical theater and I mainly sing that, and like I said, I've been in voice lessons for 5 years. I've improved a lot, but I still have so much to do for my voice. But, yes. Being an opera singer does require an insane amount of time and practice and honestly, physical stamina. People don't realize how physically and mentally challenging it can be to sing correctly

I just realised now that I've been singing for nearly two decades and still feel like an amateur 😂

@xxxwinteroverland51012 жыл бұрын
You did great for your first time!!! Just some tips when singing this type of music It’s a more round and fuller sound. So to help that, have your lips more round/ puckered to help with the staccato part. Keep that in mind when you sing that part because there are some changes in the vowels which has a different mouth shape. Also opera is more fuller than pop. So when singing it’s more farther in your mouth to create a fuller sound instead of a bright forward sound that is more pop like. Most opera is in different languages which requires learning different languages like French, Italian, etc but there are some in English if you want to learn some opera. What also help is to sing more classical type music which can help you with the similar vowels and phrasing that doesn’t require as much projecting as in opera singing. (I hope I explained it well enough lol This is my advice not saying this to be mean or call your singing bad , you are a great singer and just want to give some advice on this type of genre of music, I wish I could sing pop like music as well as you but I sing more classical and operatic pieces. So if you have any question feel free to ask.)

As someone who sings opera on a more regular basis, you have a lot of potential. Some suggestions for if you try this again or another fast moving piece is try it slower first to make sure you have all the notes down and then gradually make it faster so you don't end up skipping notes in those runs. Additionally, let you voice ring! Opera is ALL about singing freely and healthily while singing out a large sound that won't be covered up by any orchestra. Don't feel so timid about your sound. You got this!

She actually didn't do it perfectly. I'm a classically trained singer and can hear the difference. She's straining because she's not using the right techniques and not controlling her breath to push the sound out so she's struggling at the end.
@axisboise2 жыл бұрын
Because it’s far from perfect. She has the range for it but don’t she the techniques to hit the demand of those high Fs.
@TattyDarling Жыл бұрын
Not bad at!!! The control isn’t quite there, but for someone who’s not classically trained you killed it!

You nailed about 70 percent of the first suicide-via-staccato run on key/tone quality and more than 80 percent of the mechanics. For a first time attempt on this monster of an aria, that's......actually scary-good. :)

I mean it's awesome for a first attempt but as an opera fan I can assure it was not clean at all...
